A few people might remember my thread posted a couple years ago about this place. I only managed to get one picture inside the wings before we needed to leave. This time, I was alone. I was unable to venture into the wings again, but I got a good enough exploration nonetheless. I apologize for the quality of the photography; I am first and foremost an urban explorer. I feel more excitement by exploring this place than I do taking artsy pictures of it.
My last two trips here were uneventful and disappointing. The way I got in the first time had been locked, and now there was new netting preventing any other viable entryways. I pulled into the parking lot alone expecting to get a few exterior shots before I had to go. I only had a limited time to walk around before I needed to go home; this ended up being my greatest disappointment this time around.

Don't mind the finger in the bottom left. I took this on my way out and didn't exactly want to linger with so many people leaving work from the medical park on the opposite side of this place.
I walked up to the front door to peer inside to see if they had done anything new inside and-

Just luck. Dumb luck. An incredible way to get in; through the front door. I scoped out the ceilings and walls for any motion detectors or security cameras. Scattered across the ceiling were these large, black sheet things that evidently covered something up on the ceiling. Perhaps the sprinklers? I didn't see anything that might detect my presence so quickly I slipped inside.

The wires strung along the ceiling didn't appear to go anywhere. One of the red ones circled around the tiles in the lobby, but didn't connect to anything. Quickly I moved past the huge window panes and into an area with walls, just to make sure nobody could see me from the outside.

Excuse the lighting here. I was using a smartphone camera (I didn't actually expect to be inside). Inside the first room to the left were boxes and boxes of files. It was too dark to go inside and check them out, and I feared using my flash as a light would be too noticable, so I gawked from the hall. Everything seemed in pretty good shape. The lobby branched off to the right and was full of tables, chairs, chests, and a bunch of other things.

This lone placard lay leaning up against the baseboard next to a set of stairs.

The cafeteria was open for dinner! Well, not exactly, but the warm sunlight drenching the doorway was inviting. I decided to see what was on the menu tonight.

On the way down the stairs, I encountered a piece of the building that had not fared very well compared to the rest of it. This "Wall of Honor" was falling apart. Most of the letters were crooked, broken, or gone altogether.

The hallway branching to the right led to some offices. It was pitch black down this hallway and without a fellow explorer, I didn't feel game enough to fumble my way down there.

Although you can't see out the windows, there was a beautiful sight out of the pane glass windows. A sweeping panoramic view of the lake across the street was nice enough to compel me to take my own dinner inside to eat.

The street outside. I would have ventured to take a picture of the lake, but I would've been standing in virtually broad daylight and again, I didn't want to be seen. Being alone and having the adrenaline pumping was enough.

Looks like I'm going hungry. A few tiles in the floor were uprooted and cracked, but otherwise was in very nice condition.

I guess I should have read the sign. I went over to see what was left of the "vending choices".

The snack shop was black, but that wasn't what made me turn around. An uncovered motion detector sat directly through the doorway. Knowing that power still flowed through much of the building, as well as looking at my watch and noting that it was time to go anyway, I began to head back upstairs and out.

I was interested in the old fashioned square clock still mounted to the wall. A staff phone remained in place, but the panel that once held a payphone was empty ; only noticable by the few wires hanging out of it's husk.
Overall, it was a good time. I understand that currently they're building a new water pump plant behind this place, but I don't know what the future plans for the hospital itself are. If lightning strikes twice, I'll return with a buddy or two and venture into the wings. I have been up there before, but my exploration was cut short by the elevator dinging on the floor we were on. We didn't wait to see who it was; we were down the stairs and out the door before they could take two steps out.
It's abandoned, yet it looks so fresh. This is good stuff. If you have access to one, would you be bringing in a better camera on that second run?
This place seems like it's in really good condition. And it looks like wiring is still in. If you ask me, it looks like they're planning on re-purposing the building. I've had an experience like this in my area, so next time you go be extra careful.
When was this place abandoned? It looks like it has been left very recently, you don't even see signs of vandalism at all, only the natural environment is having her grip on the building.
Next time bring a video camera in, I would love to see it more in-depth.
Would love to see a video and some exploration in those dark hallways and rooms :D

My only video camera is a Sony Handycam that doesn't fare too well in dark light conditions, but I can try.
The hospital was abandoned in April 1999 due to financial issues. They're currently in the process of trying to sell it to prospective companies that WILL repurpose the building; that must explain the wiring.
I'm surprised there hasn't been any hobos moving in there or any crack heads either.
Something weird about how clean it looks.
Is it possible that the owners are still somewhat keeping the place neat?

if it's abandoned then why would the owners still be taking care of it.
the plans for re-use were published in mid-2005 and nothing has been updated since then. I know that there were plans to re-purpose it into a medical office complex, but nothing has happened thusfar

i have to say this is the cleanest of any urban exploration journey I have ever seen.
