FFFUUUUUU I'm super jelly. VR6? TURBO? TIMING CHAINS!!?!?!? Let alone a Corrado, one of the sexiest VWs ever made
You sir are my hero.
Awesome all the way. [editline]17th March 2011[/editline] Where do you live? With a turbo that big you could get 600whp on e85 or some race gas
Damn that's going to be one hell of a sexy ride.
Sexy car, and car parts. Takes some videos of the process if you can, and don't mind. Also, from what I've heard. Volkswagens from the 90's are unreliable. Is that True?

yesyesyesyes
you know you want to do this to your mkv blaster
Also, from what I've heard. Volkswagens from the 90's are unreliable. Is that True?
Meh, mine has never left me stranded.
That sir, is a very nice set of wheels. Hope all goes well and it's a lot of fun to drive :buddy:
you know you want to do this to your mkv blaster
I'm already on boost :D But on a 4 cylinder.. not nearly as cool :(
Waiting for new Air compressor pump to get here since the old one exploded. Sucks having a bunch of air tools but no air. >_<
wow I totally missed this thread. This is really cool. I love the clean look of both the exterior and the interior of the car. Should be a really nice final product. Can't wait to see more of this.
If you ever have a chance, I'd love to see a video of you doing autocross in this majestic beast. Also, could you help a newbie get into Autocross? It seems like tons of fun
holy shit [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] 400HP? torque steer everywhere
400HP? torque steer everywhere
That's the problem, i mean, the parts are massively sexy and the job looks fun as hell, but you're gonna end up with a car that's nearly undriveable. 400hp through the front wheels is something serious, you'll get tons of wheel spin and torque steer. If you can, settle for less power, you'll go faster and not end up hugging a tree. Also, how much did everything cost? I'm thinking about doing something similar to my ride.
You lucky son of a bitch, i envy you, and you don't know by how much.. I've so much wanted a corrado yet a VR6, i even wanted to throw a VR6 into my mk2, but the money, and the danish laws are the worst in the world when it comes to this.. :(

I have about 5-6K USD into it so far for just turbo. If you can, settle for less power, you'll go faster and not end up hugging a tree. Also, how much did everything cost? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYnRDlTn-Lo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV0R7PWaFzs Only thing you will have to worry about is some wheel spin if your car is setup correctly.
VW FWD is an exception. We actually get grip. And no torque steer :v:
Hahah ok, i hope that's the case, i wouldn't feel too comfortable in a corner with 400bhp on my front wheels though, specially coming from such a big ass turbo. Anyway, in the end, everything is proper setup, don't forget to show us some videos once you've finished it!.
Ahh yes, nice corrado, are you also on vwvortex?I just love VR6 sounds..

I'd trust it a lot more than I'd trust something RWD with 400hp. FWD is a lot more predictable than RWD, unless you are a complete fucktard of a driver.
I'd have to believe that, because the rear wheels are going to want to get ahead of the front wheels, whereas FWD cars are pulling the car. I guess thats why trailers are behind the trucks lol [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] I still prefer RWD though
Me too, and I like AWD even more these days, but FWD is still more predictable. Maybe not more so than AWD though, but that depends on the system I guess.
I like FWD because of the control and grip, and all wheel drive for the... Even better control and grip. Rear wheel drive is nice and all but a car putting out a lot of torque and RWD just scares the shit out of me... I got to ride in my dad's old '73 Dodge 3/4 ton pickup that he bought new and built up over the years, it puts ~1060 horses out and that thing is scary as hell when you are in the driver's seat. I moved it about a foot before I told him to do it his damn self. It's great, you can feel that truck run. It's 488 cubic inches of face-melting awesome.

RWD is the best though.

Fwd can be quick and fun, but torque steer is the most horrible thing ever.
