I've heard almost nothing about this, but from what RPS is saying, might well be a day one purchase for me!
That's some sexy-ass bloom.
I wish I had a PC that could run this.
Soon... :frown:
You also can’t down something in the middle of a fight (really, when does that ever happen in reality?)
Drinking potions while fighting monsters in dungeons? All the freaking time!
Hopefully characters will have actual facial animation this time around
Bought the first game on a Steam sale. Guess it's worth a playthrough soon.
I really need to play the first game, apparently it's quite good when you get into it and this looks even better.
Loved the first for its gray morals. All RPG-games after it have felt shallow and childish.
The consequences of the choices I made in The Witcher unsettled me more than any other game, movie or book has done.
I CAN'T. FUCKING. WAIT

Because most rpgs are made by americans and they usually prefer stuff to be black & white where you are the hero. Tho that's not only in rpgs.
It looks pretty good, but I'm not sure if I'd like it.
It's a shame they're using SecuROM on the retail release.
I'm still totally getting this though.

The only American RPG developer I've seen do grey morality well, if at all, is Obsidian. Can't speak for Japan, but some of the most refreshing, innovative stuff I've seen comes out of Europe.
Elves and dwarves aren’t the charming, friendly chappies of this particular fantasy world – they’re outsiders, looked upon by the governing humans with contempt at best and violent prejudice at worst.
Sounds a bit like how the elves are thought of in Dragon Age Origins
I never really played the first Witcher, but I really want this one.

It's basically what they were in Sapkowski's original books.

:unsmith:
I thought the first one was awful which makes me glad I only had a demo and not the full version.

Europe is overall richer and closer to the real past than america is. In america it's always black vs white, but in europe people acknowledge that everyone has his flaws and a darker side. Thus makes for deeper rpgs, especially when you have different moral choices. In american rpgs you either do good or bad, in eu ones you usually do gray.
In witcher one you didn't fight for good or evil, you fought for yourself. In most american rpgs you fight to banish the evil or something like that. But eu rpgs seem more closed world. Witcher, drakensang...
Mix freeroam of american rpgs and griminess of european ones and imo you got a great experience.
Japanese rpgs are all about colored hair and gay characters. Not a fan of jrpgs, but I love their anime :v:

yeah, anything that actually encourages a good story in games is OK in my book

Except in DAO it felt pretty trite, but still a decent attempt from a US developer. DA2 was attempting to be more like The Witcher in terms of plot issues, but executed it horribly (and was just generally bad). The Witcher did it well.

The first one starts getting fuckin awesome in chapter III, which is like 15hours into the game. The start is kinda slow but the overall game experience is fuckin brilliant.

If only all Game Developers felt this way the Games Industry would be a much better place................and Call of Duty still might have been Good ( wishful thinking )

Cod would be good if they focused on pc and not consoles. Did cod4 even have any dlc?

It had one map pack and it only cost like $5.
A game I truly want. Because it's not some fucked up console raped port.
