"War...has changed. Damn nanomachines. Let's dive into Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots!"
That thumbnail is so fucking shit.
Aww poor Johnny gets no love here on Facepunch.
[Insert comment about how he looks like a latino TotalBiscuit]
It's not his videos that are bad, his thumbnail puts everyone off from watching it.
I am honestly curious.
Why does everything involving Johnny always have the first post or two about his thumbnail?
It's simple, don't like it, don't watch it, we don't have to keep reading the same post each thread complaining about his thumbnail. We get it, it's shit, we have eyes.

because a vast majority of people on this subforum get a boner when they burst into a thread they -know- they can complain in
bonus points when you can snipe out the first couple of posts too

whatever tbh, he's one of the better gaming channels out there currently so i dont really give a fuck if people bombard each thread with boxes because they wanna follow a trend lol

maybe people do it because it's hands down the worst part of his channel

But do we honestly need reminders each fucking thread about his thumbnail? Like seriously, it's been the first, second or third post in the thread. It's extremely annoying.
Might as well start adding in the op "His thumbnail is shit, we get it".

and it has no baring on the quality of the videos content at all, it's an image you view for a -fraction- of a second before pressing play
hows about instead of acting like children we judge a content creators content for its....
gasp
content!!!

You're vastly underestimating the importance of the thumbnail. It, along with the title of the video (which isn't exactly great either, to put it lightly), are the sole determining factors in whether someone will watch the video or not, because they are the sole indicators of what kind of content contains.

I can understand not wanting to watch it but don't act like you know whether or not a video is any good if you're just going to look at the thumbnail, which is the problem, i find.

I'm not saying that the video is bad. I'm saying that the thumbnail indicates it's bad.
Obviously you can't always tell the quality of a video based on it's thumbnail, presumably this is one of those cases.
Nevertheless, you can still judge a lot from the thumbnail the majority of the time, and doing so is absolutely essential since you, obviously, can't just watch everything. No one has that much free time, or that much time at all, really. So you need a to weed out the things you aren't interested in.
i always just thought it was a running joke because a couple people complained about the thumbnail in the first thread where Johnny was posted
i don't even watch his stuff but lmao after 3+ threads you should've gotten over it by now

I don't honestly give a shit, its annoying when people come in -every- thread to bitch about it. Stop coming into the threads if you're just gonna moan and not look at the content, sorry!

And seeing as I work two jobs and still manage to find time to appreciate content for its meat, you've got 0 excuses
Lmfao 'people don't have time!'

I'm sorry, I should have worded it better. I'm not saying you're wrong, in fact you're quite right, it's just the problem isn't really that people are put off by it, it's that people get ahead of themselves, and that for every single thread someone always has to say something about it.
All things considered I expected it to be sonic 06 long in terms of time.

All g, I'll come up with more constructive criticism.
*ahem* In my opinion the thumbnail is shit because it tries to blend a realistic person in a cartoon form. This doesn't work because what we have here looks dorky.

I'm surprised he managed to compress MGS4 as well as he did compared to his Sonic 06 review. I'd say that's due to him having more to say about Sonic 06 but still MGS4's no slouch in the plot department.
All this talk about thumbnails and no one mentions the more important topic:
I thought this was going to be a video about Johnny Sasaki single-handedly doing everything in MGS4, like the secret theater model swaps from MGS2 & 3.
Very disappointed, and I give it only a 3/5 (did not watch the video).

MGS4 is a giant clusterfuck but it doesn't utterly piss him off nor does it go into places that can't be summed up to a degree. Sonic '06 is so brazenly dumb and infuriating, especially for Sonic fans like him, that one cannot help but go into an excess rant. There's a lot more tangents in that review too, plus he had to summarize all the gameplay for the characters and all the stupid problems the game throws out, compared to his MGS marathon where each game essentially just builds upon the last and he expects you to watch them in order for the full effect as a result. In general it seems like while he holds games like MGS1 in great regard, he's just not quite as in-depth with it as he is the Sonic games, but that's understandable.
