Scotland has again broken the record for its highest-ever March temperature.
The mercury reached a new high of 22.9C in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, on Monday afternoon.
That beat the previous record of 22.8C, which was set at Fyvie Castle, also in Aberdeenshire, on Sunday.
Aviemore in the Highlands (22.3C), Braemar in Aberdeenshire (19.6C), Wick in Caithness (19.5C) and Kirkwall on Orkney (18.7C) also reached record highs for the month of March on Monday.
The average daytime temperature for March is usually about 10C.
Records were also broken across southern and central Scotland on Monday, with Strathallan in Perth and Kinross and Charterhall in Berwickshire both recording 19.8C.
The weather station at Bishopton in Renfrewshire, which records temperatures for Glasgow, broke its March record on Sunday at 19.5C and was close to equalling that on Monday.
The previous Scottish high was 22.2C set in March 1957 at Gordon Castle, in Moray, and again at Strachan, in Kincardineshire, in 1965.
The warmest UK March day on record stands at 25.6C, which was set at Mepal in Cambridgeshire in 1968.
The sunny spell saw the majority of the country enjoy a weekend of fine weather, warmer than southerly parts of continental Europe, including Barcelona, Nice, Majorca and Faro in Portugal.
BBC Scotland weather forecaster Stav Danaos said after a chilly night Tuesday would see little change, with all parts seeing plenty of sunshine, but maybe a degree or two down on Monday.

Considering here in Scotland a warm day for us is 10C most of the time, this is a pretty big deal, what will it normally being driving rain, windy as all fuck and cold as fuck.
Here In Scotland:
Complain when its cold
Complain when its hot
Repeat.
Sweating my ass off today.

It's pretty rare for folk to complain when it's cold here, and I'm the only person I know who complains when it's warm.
When it's raining though ohohho, nah man, fuck rain, no one likes rain.

Pffft you pussy, I live on Venus it's always like 400c.
I was almost dying from the heat today. I mean it's nicer than usual but I don't know how long I could stand it.
I had to take my jacket off. I never have to take my jacket off.

I was going around in a t-shirt and jeans today and I was fine. Really hot tho
Shorts all day erry day man.
Fucking amazing weather at the moment, too bad it will only last a week and then it will rain for the rest of the year inc. all of Summer
I didn't feel too hot today, pretty sunny though.
Holy crap 22.9C in March. And I thought 12C was much.
22.9C? seriously? this is like really cold. Here in Israel during summer days it's usually around 30-37 degrees..

I would literally die if i was in a place that hot
I hate hot weather, if only it would be cold everyday.
I've worn a kilt a few times in my life, but it begs the question: would wearing a kilt in this weather be more comfortable than pants or shorts?
'long as you don't wake up with a blue ribbon I'd say it would be :v:

But March isn't summer and Israel isn't Scotland.

Cold is better than hot since its way easier to heat yourself up than to cool yourself down.

You would have constant cool air wafting at your dick
I've was freezing my arse off this morning, and then about 2 hours later, I'm sweating my tits off.
This has never happened in Scotland for as long as I have bloody lived.
I find 10c to be too warm, really fucking weird. Must be my English genes that cause me to sweat like a goddamn lawn sprinkler.

I fail to see how that would be a bad thing

And someone goes and does it again, as is usual on heat/cold wave threads. It's totally dependant on where you live, and is pointless to state that one place is cold or hot compared to where you live due to acclimatisation.

Wow, I'm jealous, not even close to 15 degrees celsius here.
They may take our cold, but they can never take our RAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIN
Yay for fellow Scots!
That must be nice. It's about 6C/42F here in Michigan.
