I'm actually crying right now, no joke.
Hyped, looks great!
Why is there nothing about it coming to PC? Not only did the port of the first game spark interest into the series again, but SEGA said that they were committing to the platform.
Well... that came out of nowhere.
Well... that came out of nowhere.
There was a grueling week-long tease leadup. Didn't come out of nowhere at all.
Odd choice of music them playing "The Minstrel Boy" around the flower meadow scene, why [sp]are there Sherman looking sort of tanks? Is it meant to symbolize the cold war and stuff? They looked like Russians, the red flag people[/sp]
And here I thought the series was dead after the latest "Valkyria" game.

So they're meant to look more like the allies in some respects.
We're still missing a numbered game in the series in the west
There was more than one game??? And now a fourth is due???
There was more than one game??? And now a fourth is due???
There were three mainline games. The second was on the PSP and moved the setting so that everybody was high-schoolers. The [del]third returned to consoles[/del] stayed on PSP and removed the high school but was never localised.
There was more than one game??? And now a fourth is due???
2nd game was a PSP exclusive, 3rd one never made it to the west.
The third returned to consoles and removed the high school but was never localised.
It was still a PSP exclusive as far as I know.
The 3rd game is fully translated if you want to play it.
Welp gotta get my psp out and finish rebuilding it. Still upset I can't reasonably put more than 32 gigs in it.
i was still expecting maids and swords so i was still surprised
As nutty as VC2 got with the setting it never reached Maid level. [sp]Butlers tho....[/sp] [editline]20th November 2017[/editline] Incredibly excited for this shit, honestly glad to see no melee weapons at all as well as funkier stuff 2/3 had like the Anthem class. I get they wanted a buffer and a debuffer but lol. [t]https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/valkyria/images/7/71/Melodist.jpg[/t] No lancers seem strange for something taking place at the same time as 1 though.
No lancers seem strange for something taking place at the same time as 1 though.
The Imperials have lancers in the trailer. Don't count them out entirely.
The Imperials have lancers in the trailer. Don't count them out entirely.
Didn't see those, thanks. Still seems strange none of our allied units seem to be a Lancer so far tho. The mortarer class even got replaced by grenadier.
the series was saved by the sales of the pc version and there's no pc announcement for vc4? huh??
I don't understand why they wouldn't port it to pc? There's a pretty high demand for it.
I will probably end up buying a used PS4 just to play this. No PC announcement is a bit of a fuck you move but this is probably a SEGA of Japan thing. I believe when the first one came to PC, they were very much against it. But it really surprises me that they would release a exclusive xbox one version for the west, like come the fuck on the xbox one hasnt exactly been a good place for these kind of games. Hopefully it will come to PC anyway since this WAS a japanese trailer and japan loves to exclude PC even IF it is coming to it in the west but fuck it, this is one of the few games that can get me to buy a console.
Finally, a return to form for the series.
Wow, it's a real Valkyria game. The Revolutions thing was such a disappointment I assumed the entire series would tank as a result but here we get a real Valkyria sequel we all wanted. Dreams can come true.
Finally a proper Valkyria game. That spin off where it's literally a generic JRPG kills me every time I see footage of it.
To anyone who has played the first game and is interested in the series, I would implore you to play Valkyria Chronicles 3. It's an excellent side-story that runs parallel to the first game and has all the gameplay improvements (tuned up combat, fast mode etc.) from the second game without the low difficulty, material/class credit grinding or high school anime plot. You can find the near-complete fan translation online, other than untranslated DLC and various typos, it gets you the whole story, main and side missions included. It's practically criminal how SEGA did not localize the (arguably) best game in the series. On a side note, according to Steamspy, Valkyria Chronicles has almost a million owners, roughly triple of Bayonetta, so if SEGA has no plans for a PC port, they're allergic to money.
i bought the first one for PC, ended up enjoying it so much i bought the re-release on PS4 too. i never actually finished it though so i should get around to it one day. the sequel/spin off games look weird and a bit too anime for me. i mean the first one was anime no doubt but it atleast still looked and felt fairly grounded while retaining the unique japanese characteristics
gonna be that guy, i think it looks a bit too anime, granted i only played the first one but I thought that one was a pretty good midway. There was a beach episode yeah but I thought that was pretty tongue in cheek and also optional.
WHAT
This looks so good P L E A S E COME TO PC
Valkyria Chronicles 3 is such a good game too! If you haven't given it a shot, find it and the fan english localization and give it a shot!
