• Alternates to Fossil Fuel

So, what with the imminent disappearance of fossil fuels getting closer each year, we will be forced to find another method of energy. Mine consists of stopping the burials and cremations of the dead. A person dies every 3-5 seconds. Harvest the dead (or comatose vegetables), and use them as fuel. Infinite energy. If we still need more energy, we can also resort to death row inmates and those who have committed the most serious of crimes. Controversial, perhaps, but eventually we will have to stop being pussies and take action. people need to stop placing such moral emphasis on these things, it's unnecessary, and wasteful. The dead do not care, and as such utilization is beneficial. So, what do you think? I don't see why it wouldn't work, humans are renewable energy. And What are your ideas for gaining energy? [editline]2nd August 2011[/editline] Go ahead, explain why it wouldn't work. The ones rating me dumb are butthurt faggots are holding back the progress of humanity. i can't wait to say my dead mother fuels my lawnmower
Oh god we're out of oil, guess we'll have to burn these inmates...
hahahaha what the fuck hahaha
People need to stop being fucking faggots and understand that eventually some action will need to be taken. These people are the same people who are holding back the progress of humanity.
Reminds me of that flash game where you run the oil business, and you can eventually do this.
People need to stop being fucking faggots and understand that eventually some action will need to be taken. These people are the same people who are holding back the progress of humanity.
Burning bodies seems a step back for me. Only for cremation purposes.
Burning bodies seems a step back for me. Only for cremation purposes.
Why. They are dead, and the dead do not care.
I hear Nuclear power is very good as long as you don't place it near tectonic fault lines.
Do you know anything about how engines work or any basic chemistry? Oh my gosh. Dead people =/= fuel. Its not as easy as chopping off a finger and throwing it in your gas tank. It takes tons of pressure and time to create carbon which we use for oil and fuel.
Why. They are dead, and the dead do not care.
But some dead people have last requests to be buried somewhere or to have their ashes scattered by their family. or their family just would not allow it.
People need to stop being fucking faggots and understand that eventually some action will need to be taken. Excess from restaurants. heck, there are a lot of fuels in development but its difficult competing with the Oil companies breathing down your back. Its not like burning bodies is our only way to do it. also, development on solar energy has increased tremendously the past few years. Why give up on that and just resort to burning dead humans?
You're getting dumbs because bodies aren't magically a great fuel source, and even if they were people would still think you're dumb because it would be controversial, and if flesh were a good fuel source animals would be used rather than humans, overall you're dumb.
Ah, fuck. I thought it would be a good alternative, oh well.

Wow really? Biogas, Electricity, Solar Power, even Water.
It would be more effective to make prisoners pull around wagons full of people. You're dumb op.
Why would you do that with people? This is what we should be making with them:
I assume myalt22 thinks planned parenthood is some sort of power station as well
Do you have any idea how fossil fuels work? There is a reason why they take millions of years before they can be used.
America would be a power-providing powerhouse once more, since fat burns really well.
The amount of processing and purification to turn corpses into a liquid fuel would require massive amounts of energy and time. Even then, the amount of bodies that are required to sate the fuel requirements, of a country like, the UK for example, would require billions of corpses. Even then, you're going to have a massive amount of CO2 to deal with, the body, when dead, isn't that energetic.
flammable =/= can power an internal combustion engine
Link.
http://www.addictinggames.com/strategy-games/oiligarchy.jsp Pretty fun game. It goes beyond what the OP was suggesting and seems to be converting living people into oil. It also ends up with a pretty nifty beat.
Fossil fuels will most likely not ever run out. The cycle that creates them is always starting and stopping. This means that fossil fuels are always being created. Therefore, by logical thinking, they will always renew themselves. But, what the hell am I saying? This makes way too much sense for anyone.
Go ahead, explain why it wouldn't work. The ones rating me dumb are butthurt faggots are holding back the progress of humanity.
No no no, there's nothing wrong with your plan but that brings the rest of the dumbs. I mean.. people tend to respect other people or.. they are like "bawwhaww, we've got to make his burial the best of his life! oh wait"' so yeah you think, but what you gonna do.
OP is female.
yeah, lets kill people to power our cars

It's considered non-renewable because it's way, too, slow.
Sir, you are right. But it's way, too, slow. It's considered non-renewable because it's way, too, slow.
No, it's not. Think about it. It's starting somewhere in the world every picosecond. And the cycle, logic being required here, would also be ending every picosecond.
Really OP? Well i tell you what, to test this plan we will throw you in to a fire and see how that works okay?
I'm going to make this clear right now. We need fossil fuels. Petrol and natural gas and coal are needed in more than simply engines. Plastics, rubbers, tars, oils, lubricants, and thousands of other things that are necessary to function as a society the way we are require fossil fuels. We will never remove our dependency. However we can drastically reduce the usage by recycling plastics and rubbers, using long term replacements for power other than coal and natural gas, such as nuclear, and investing in orbital and earth-based solar power, and to an extent wind and tidal/hydro. But water and wind-based energy collection methods may have some severe negative consequences if used on a large-enough scale to remove our dependency on fossil fuels for energy, so we either need to improve these methods or find better alternatives. Oh, and OP, how can we use the bodies to fix the fuel crisis when we will need them to be converted to soylent green to fix the hunger crisis?
