SEA ISLE CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — As Diana Rocco of KYW-TV, Philadelphia reported for CBS 2 Friday night, the fire broke out around 4:48 p.m. Friday in the 7800 block of Pleasure Avenue in Sea Isle City, CBS Philadelphia reported. Cellphone video showed the flames burning out of control, and quickly spreading from one Sea Isle City beachfront home to the next. The 7 alarms (Roughly 15 other departments) speak for themselves. Having weathered hurricane Sandy myself, I can tell you this is another really devastating setback to the restoration of the Jersey Coast. Even if it's not a tourist attraction. My apologies.
What does 7 alarm mean though?
What does 7 alarm mean though?
das a big fire
Each alarm is a sign that mutual aid (or another fire company nearby) has been called. It works in increments and varies place to place.
So that's what those sirens I heard earlier were..
