I saw the mod on Fps Banana that took away blood, muzzle flashes, shells, and changed the gun sound with airsoft. Im going to recreate this mod, only overhaul it. Record a different sound for every gun, new radio and player sounds, HD textures with airsoft gun trades on them, Green and Tan camo teams, ect. So If anyone wants to lend a helping had, feel free to. Ill post some pics once I take them.

I did make some airsoft guns for Gmod based on someone elses SWEP years ago. Took sounds from my guns on semi auto. The guns sounded off when fired on full auto because it was simply repeating the semi auto sound. Also unless you got a somewhat good microphone it's going to sound off.

Both teams are using the Seal Team 6 models so they look all tactical n' stuff. I pretty much uber bumped the guys and made the green a more sandy green. BTW, these are on minimum quality.

Airsoft is for players that want to have real combat yet while not dying, or going through PTSD afterwards. Same is with video games. So adding airsoft to counterstrike is like having two of the same ended magnets going together. And the only reason paintball has video games is because ESPN had to be fags and make it a sport, which had tournament types of gameplay. So in theory paintball doesnt count.
Edit the decals to make them look like small BB dents in walls and not those giant concrete decals.

Well I messed around with the game today and I learned that the source engine is way more flexible than I thought. So Im going to start working on more things than just new scripts, retextures, and sounds, and do more of a total conversion.

Why you cannot make a airsoft video game
Airsoft is a great sport in real life, it provides fitness and fun, it also allows you to meet new people. The same goes for video games except the part about fitness. A lot of people like both video games and airsoft, but putting them together doesn't work out.
The first reason they do not work together is because airsoft is a semi-realistic millitary tactical activity, and video games are a computer simulated war game, in our context, They are about the same thing and lack in areas the other has, Such as the feeling of being there is not in a video game, but in airsoft you are really there, where as in a video game every gun sounds real and shoots simulated bullets, airsoft does not have this feature. In essence they are, at the basics, the same thing when you think about it.
Next we would find airsoft bb's shoot with totaly different physics then a bullet in a video game, as the bb's are round and spin and a bullet is more like a cone, so they have different responces to the environment they are in, Where as a bullet mostly flys straight with a drop to it, fallout 3 is not an example of this because a sniper rifle bullet can shoot 90 degrees out of the barrel from the point you aim. We would also find the physics would be hard to tweak for airsoft weapons in a game.
Then we get to the last bit which would be the death aspect. In a game when you die you end up bloody and all dead, but in airsoft we call hit and walk away to a pre-determined zone, they would have to use custom maps with these zones and the player would have to teleport there because someone as we know will play dirty pool and block their team from hits.
We also have to speak of the team aspect and weapons. In airsoft what makes it fun is the fact you get to dress out in gear you choose, in a video game that would require a load of work and extensive scripting and a lot of drawing for menus and all. We also have to talk about ammo, how do you determine that? 300 rounds in a hi-cap mag and people will spray and pray because in most games you have 30 bullets per mag and if one shot kills you will get a lot of bunny hopping sprayers and then how do you determine how you get more ammo if any?
Anyway I assume one of you is not going to be reading this and are going to flame me endlessly for being dumb, but if you ask me, can this [assumed] 10-12 year old pull off this project and make it look good?

If I was making this I would start from the ground up. Gameplay is pretty much like any other FPS out there, except with shorter range. To make it true to airsoft you would have to add hop-up, which I know would be a real pain in the ass to calculate into a game to make it work right. Even then it'll will still feel like an FPS.
The only thing that would set it apart would be if you could actually buy and upgrade external and internal parts of your gun. Now that would be sweet, but I really doubt anyone would want to put that much time into something like that considering only a couple of people would play it.
Really, I don't think it's worth the time and effort to make something like this, even if you could. Best thing to do is just make an airsoft SWEP and that's it.

I can understand you completely. Your "expanded vocabulary" (which appears to be full of cussing and over-exaggeration) that you refuse to use intrigues me. Please, tell me more. The only reason im doing this is because Ive been bored as hell and I cant think of a thing to do, and I thought that maybe, just maybe, some of you guys wouldn't flame me, and It would interest you.
Well, you could do something contrastive, maybe take the Source engine and create a story, and make unique weapons and characters with a pleasant plot, that always entertains people, but as far as a deathmatch game the best you could get in the realms of sports, in the firearm catagory would be paintball in my eyes, and we already have a paintball source game. Maybe if you decided you could be bored long enough to create a large ammount of scripts, models,sounds,parts, a reward/market system allowing you to get more parts and guns, and the ability to paint your questionable ammount of customized gun possibilitys with these features, exceptional maps of different enviroments and mannaged to script in the physics needed for a realistic airsoft game, then you might have something there. I saw a retextured one dimensional tan verses green counterstrike with new sounds. Not anything people will download and play, sorry but really, if you need anyhelp I might have pity upon your poor soul and contribute something. Beware however, the source engine dislikes people doing a lot with it in some cases (see how hl2 loads every 5 minutes of gameplay *UGH*).

So make a single player mod in which you start as a new player playing with your friends with springers in your backyard, and rise up into an elitist playing OP Lion Claws with a Systema? I dont care if we end up using source, unreal, crysis, GSC, or even halo engine, Im getting a team together and doing this.
Well not a sim I was thinking more multiplayer stuff, like you start out with a shitty springer and about 3000 bb's you "earn money" by winning matches/getting kills, for a while you have a reward/raffle system that takes and randomly selects a player to receive a few $ here and there for playing, and after a while you would ammount a few grand and have armorys worth of bbs.
