You’ve seen the blimp
You’ve seen the stencil. Now there’s this – a tweet from Aphex Twin’s official account containing an url ending with .onion, the suffix associated with TOR browsers and what Silk Road users will be familiar with as the “deep web”.
The URL leads to some text appears to contain an album title – SYRO – and a list of 12 tracks alongside what we’d reckon to be their BPMs. There’s also an image, which you can see above, as discovered by Stereogum.
We can hardly contain ourselves. Oh, and happy birthday Richard!

I thought this day would never come
I posted it from mobile and now I can't fix the thread title. The album name is 'SYRO' not '-•SYRO'
It's not an Aphex album if the track titles aren't unpronounceable gibberish
It's not an Aphex album if the track titles aren't unpronounceable gibberish
Drukq's titles are perfectly pronounceable. They're just in [del]Welsh.[/del] Cornish. Whoops.

So excited. It's been such a long time since even those bonuses from the Analords were released (and now Rephlex's website just redirects to their discogs page).
To people talking about the titles, have any of you ever looked at an Autechre or Squarepusher album? :v:

I hope that this is one of the albums tracks, I haven't been so excited for an album like this in ages

Squarepusher's song titles are mostly fine, Ufabulum didn't have a single one that you couldn't pronounce afaik
Autechre's latest album on the other hand

Squarepusher's song titles from Hard Normal Daddy are easy to pronounce but difficult to understand what it means.
I really need to get some money to get this.
Fuuuuuuuuuck I'm excited.
Well, this is interesting. The link that Aphex shared on Twitter: syro2eznzea2xbpi.onion
Is also Eznzea and Xbpi 2 other releases incoming?

Yeah, his are only a sometimes. AFX still names his actual things sometimes, but less often than Squarepusher.

It's 7 in the morning.
Cool. I like their ambient cool music the most, like "Lichen".

Miracles do happen
I am pretty excited to hear this, Aphex Twin is one of the pillars of electronic music, and from what I've read this album will have a very ambient-y vibe to it, which I love.
Extremely happy to hear this. Gonna set aside some dosh to buy it on CD as soon as it comes out.

First heard of Aphex Twin when I played through Afraid of Monsters: DC.
Been a huge fan ever since.
Why dumb? I mean, this is a pretty chill track!

The song choice in that game was great.
I first heard of him from this cover

Most of his stuff isn't really for me but I've found a few songs that I really like.

I find this song to be pretty cool too. It reminds me of machinery, y'know?
Anyway, can't wait for AT's new songs! Hype!

Yeah, me too. I've been meaning to note down what AFX tracks are used and where, but I'm lazy.

Knew about this song for such a long time because of Nine Inch Nails, and even after listen to Apex Twin for a few years I still didn't know it was him.
