I didn't see a thread like this so... as the title says, it's a thread about Nirvana! Post your favorite songs etc. just chat!
smells like a teenage spirit is my favourite song
Used to love Nirvana. Still do, but Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains have overtaken my main grunge listening experience.
i fucking love with the lights out its their best song!
About a Girl is really good.
I'm a huge Nirvana fan, got into them in Middle School and have been a Die-Hard ever since. I own their entire discography on CD and I'm very close to doing the same on Vinyl ( I still need Bleach and From The Muddy Banks).

Just a warning for future posts.
:(
You can get away with the basic ones like ":) and :(" and probably one or two more, but "XD" on facepunch is considered suicide. I was just pointing it out. I don't personally give two shits but a lot of facepunchers do, and I don't want people to get scared off or whatever.

A fucking mind blowing version of Drain You they did at a John Peel Session. I love this as an aggressive love song, it's void of any pathetic soppy stuff and just raw energy. My favorite lyric of Kurt's is the nurturing line "Chew your meat for you, pass it back and forth, in our passionate kiss" makes me think of two bird's in unity mothering each other. Okay I'm going to stop being all freudian. Enjoy: A picture of Nirvana with Anthony Kiedis
My all time favourite song is still plateau
My all time favourite song is still plateau
yeah dude the meat puppets are great
yeah dude the meat puppets are great
To be specific, the cover by Nirvana :v:
kurt was great, never learnt how to play the lead to his own songs.
I used to play in a Nirvana cover band, actually made a bit of pocket money doing so. Was surprised how well our singer was getting cobain's voice. Really gritty and jarling, he even studied the songs to get the voice cracks right. I have to say my favorite 3 songs to play were probably Drain You, Negative Creep and Tourette's Otherwise Lounge Act has been playing here for a good long while. I think that's the song where Kurt really mastered his yell.
kurt was great, never learnt how to play the lead to his own songs.
Haha, I guess it's a matter of taste really. If you wanted that text book regimented rock solo stuff you'd get stuck into the metal or hairy heavy rock bands. I think it was more about the melody and "feel" of the music with Nirvana rather than a list of trebbleclefs, apprigeos and obscure scales.
My favorite Nirvana song is Drain You. I don't any of their songs on bass nor guitar. Maybe one day I will take the time and a bass line, they sound really easy.
whats nirvana... like NERVE and if there was a girl named ANNA but you pronounced it AH-NUH yes?
Milk It. That is all.
Rape me. All of their songs. That is all.
All of their songs [sp]ok, not alll of their songs[/sp] end with Kurt screaming the same line over and over
didn't know this band still existed sweet
Nirvana was my favorite band for a reeaally long time. [sp](don't think they're still my favorite band, but they're still up there.)[/sp] I made a few threads circulating around them like 2 years ago maybe, what with the 20th Anniversary of Nevermind and my "Grunge Megathread". Currently I have 39 Nirvana albums on my computer but I used to have 43. Paper Cuts has to be my favorite track though.
39 nirvana albums? when did they release that many stuff
theres a ton of bootleg albums and demo tapes circulating on the net ive heard a few, the in utero demos are worth a listen.
honestly i think nirvana gets way more hype than it actually deserves sort of like the beatles also sure they were fluencial but they were and above average band nothing too great
