Even though I never really listen to this kind of stuff, I love the chords and style of this one. Reminds me a bit of Mirror's Edge and the soundtrack, actually. Absolutely wonderful. Keep writing and experimenting with what you're doing.

this needs some more interesting bass, the lengthy sine bass just isn't doing it for me. the snare and hats are also pretty boring, try to switch the drums out with something a bit more natural if you're gonna use other natural sounds like the pads and pianos

the synthwork seems pretty good, the kick sticks out in the track in a little bit but im not sure if thats because the snare is so unresponsive. good track overall, nice melodies, just work on mixing things down and getting the right drums in.

Nice! I think the strings at the beginning would be even better if they were more authentic sounding.

The song is really nice. In fact, it reminds me of a slowed down version of a song I'd hear on a Japanese version of a Nintendo game. It's a bit repetitive(and the fact the song is slow doesn't help). Maybe change up the melody a bit and it'll be great.

You've gotten pretty good dude! that melody at 0:30 is really pretty, and your drum work is really nice and electroey. I could imagine this on the radio with a female singer on it any day.

Sounds a little uninspired. The same loops go on for way too long to keep interesting. And that snare is really muddy. You should reduce the decay on it and cut some 100-200 hz area from it.

The thing that happens at 2:28 is really cool though, and this could be nice if you removed some of the mud and added variation!

I'm not into the genre but it reminds me of japanese stuff, animes and whatever melody-wise. The big issue I have is that EVERYTHING sounds pretty much low passed. Sounds like you just cut out everything above 3khz and shelfed it at 1khz.

I'm guessing it isn't a limiter boosting the bass because it happens in the not so compressed parts of the song too, so either you exported it as a REALLY low quality mp3 OR you have a master eq or some other effect fucking up the high end really badly. It's a shame since it sounds like it could be quite an "epic" song. Like something of a cyber lord of the rings soundtrack i guess.

Daaaamn. One of the coolest things I've heard here, it sounds like some experimental proto-trap from the future. I love the drum sounds, I love the weird detuned synths. I think my favorite part is that pretty much every bar is different but it sounds cohesive.

Goddamn I wasn't expecting drums like that. Really cool, very forward going. I don't like the melodic part of it at all honestly, but I'm pretty sure that's just me subjectively. Alright heading towards a drop now, big build even though it's a little cliché HOLY SHIT IT DROPPED AND IT IS GOOOOOD. Okay that was a really short drop but it was pretty intense. Awesome track, I wish the drop lasted longer though.

I'm no expert on acoustic music but I think you should save the harmonies for big moments instead of having them through the whole song. I've kinda started trying to sing stuff myself and I know singing harmonies is fun but it will be more impactful if you use it sparingly.

Oh my god i'm still so insanely jealous of your gear. This sounds awesome. You should buy a sampler and sample percussive sounds from your modular into it and sequence those. Would be really neat.

Yeah overcompressed is not a good thing. And no that's only partially why it's muddy. The snare is the loudest in the 100-300hz part of the spectrum and when you compress it like this you boost the fuck out of that and because digital recording has a defined "roof" at 0db it will cause the high end to get drowned out and this is not a good thing as there are few people who like mud in their music. It destroys any midrange definition you can have and makes the song sound very boring.

Simply scooping out some of the low mids with an eq would enable you to keep your dear compression while still maintaining clear mids.

Oh and this is just my opinion ofc and you can do whatever you want. I'm just saying daft punk never did muddy snares like this and I think it's for a reason.

I think you should try and make the drums really, really dirty, like it distorts and generally lots of mid on the drums could make this one a lot better.

Some sort of synth or pad as a big fat steak in the middle would do wonders too I believe :smile:

i hate to be 'that guy' but this doesnt sound like trap at all. an alright tune, just take the reverb off of most of the stuff you have there because the mix is generally quite muddy. sounds very WIP at the moment aside from that
