And his arms gonna be fucked, should have been wearing leather.
that wasnt very clever now was it
And his arms gonna be fucked, should have been wearing leather.
Yes he should but it didn't look that bad to me.
Yes he should but it didn't look that bad to me.
It would look worse within mins after.
It would look worse within mins after.
Why's that?
He got out lucky. Still I have no sympathy for him, and he should be grateful that the other cars did not lose any control.
If you can not respect other's safety and their lifes, none will come to you in return.
Not sure why so many motorcycle riders think they own the road just because they are smaller. When you make a habit of dumb driving practices things like this are bound to happen.
I really don't think it was anything like him thinking he owned the road lol, it looks more like he just misjudged the curve of the on ramp and merged while going way too fast. you can see as they're merging they're going just about as fast as the current traffic - they weren't driving unsafely, he just misjudged his ability to turn at the speed they were attempting to merge at
this is totally different from someone lane hopping or lane splitting

this could've happened to basically anyone regardless of whether they were in a motorcycle or something like an suv with a high center of gravity
Yeah looks to me like he was scared to lean the bike over
this is why we have acceleration lanes. you shouldnt be going 70 before you even get on the highway, especially on a curve
I do that in a car. But mainly because people don't let you merge where I live so you have to just go for it.
this is why we have acceleration lanes. you shouldnt be going 70 before you even get on the highway, especially on a curve
I was taught to accelerate to 70 down the ramp before you even hit the highway, merging lanes can be pretty short.
Looks like he may have not been experienced on a bike and was going to fast for the turn he was trying to make like others said. He's got to have some bad road rash.
Is no one gonna talk about how the guy in the truck didn't even stop to see he if was okay?
EDIT: Never mind, read the video description
this is why we have acceleration lanes. you shouldnt be going 70 before you even get on the highway, especially on a curve
i live in ct merging lanes don't even exist at points on the merit parkway lmbo, and merging lanes along 95 can be about 30 meters at most
anyway some people got in contact with the dude who uploaded the video who characterized the situation like this
...“I think there were several factors that contributed to this happening – the first obviously being that the rider went into the turn above his comfort level,” wrote KC motovlogger, who declined to give his real name.
“The corner is deceiving due to the fisheye lens on the camera. It’s down hill and then a decreasing radius corner at the bottom. Target fixation definitely played a role as well. Also, his front tire was not in the best of condition so that may have (contributed) as well.”
KC motovlogger continued, “If you look closely at the video, you can see he starts to decelerate once in the corner. If you do that, along with using the brakes in a corner, (it’s) a no-no and will cause the bike to decrease lean angle and go straight.”

however to give some credit to the idea that these guys are asshats just have to look at the most recently uploaded video on this yt account

seems to roll with crews that act like dickheads sO

ugh god the music choice in this vid (esp @ 4:00~ mark) is so fucking offensive to my ears
What happened was he accelerated too hard. If you're accellerating too hard on a bike, the resulting force makes it difficult to lean and therefore turn, the force snaps you upright.
Videos like this are getting harder for me to watch after seeing a video of a dude with shorts, T-shirt, sandals and no helmet crash his motorcycle hard, and then you see him sitting on the side of the road with half of his face hanging off his skull as he tries to stretch it back to it's place.
Riders, always wear your protective clothing.
Well he could have get something worse for cutting people off like a retard

If you are going so fast on a on ramp that you can't maintain your lane then you are driving like an idiot.
I do that in a car. But mainly because people don't let you merge where I live so you have to just go for it.
"let you merge" you are supposed to yield, not them
"let you merge" you are supposed to yield, not them
Around here people floor it so you can't get in front of them. Causes traffic to back up because people go all the way to the end of the on-ramp, further clogging traffic.
this is why we have acceleration lanes. you shouldnt be going 70 before you even get on the highway, especially on a curve
That is completely wrong and even against our laws. In Denmark, you must accelerate to 110km/h (65 mph) on the downramp. If you don't accelerate to highway speeds on the ramp, then you're slowing all traffic down. I remember you'd fail your driving test in my country if you didn't reach 110 km/h on the downramp - it's a serious issue people don't get that the ramp is for accelerating, not the highway.

That's a good law to have. People merge onto major highways around here at like 40mph.

Not getting up to highway speed on the merge lane is a recipe for causing accidents and getting stuck in said merge lane when traffic is moving too fast and too densely to safely merge at low speed.
On my old Ford sedan, I would basically floor the gas at the apex of a curve to unleash 2.0 liters of RAW FURY so I could get into the slow lane at 65mph.
Videos like this make me angry.
It gives responsible, proper motorcyclists a bad reputation, making some people on the road think they're all idiots or thrill seekers doing stupid shit, which in turn causes more accidents.

Isn't that true for any stereotype?
Isn't that true for any stereotype?
It is, but sometimes certain kinds of people get mad if you point that out...
Counter-steering. It's a strange concept. After your turn your your handle bar, you slightly turn it into the opposite direction of your turn. This will lean the bike itself over.
He didn't do that. The other thing they teach you, which is also counter-intuitive, is never look at where you're about to crash. Look for a way around it. It's human nature to drive to a place that we're looking.
