Is flying the planes actually a viable option this time 'round?
Basically to describe it, its like there's 2 fights going off in 1 map, you have everything going off on the ground, then you look up in the air to witness an entirely different fight of its own going off, dog fights are amazing not to mention laser guided bombs which players on the ground can laser designate too.
also they don't seem to have put it in the beta but you can get ejector seats for the jets.
I was hoping to see some air to ground action, because if the jets turn out to just be jet-killers, its not gonna be that awesome.

Seemed to me like that's what it mostly was (air to air, little to no air to ground)
To be entirely honest, I hoped for more air versus ground combat. Maybe few more jets in the air to spice it up. I admit I only played BC2 so I have no idea what the jets where capable of in BF2 but if they are just to fight other jets it could feel boring for me. In the trailer we could see ground forces being able to shoot down a jet, but they should have shown the aircrafts can harm the ground, too.

Doesn't mean the pilot can survive (or at least stay conscious in) that kind of G-force. But hey, it's Battlefield, realism isn't really all that important.

the maps still aren't big enough for proper realistic flight, if you wanted that in a game the map would have to be the size of a county.

Hardly any game has the environment in actual scale when compared to the characters. Implying that in games, even though the maps might appear as big, they would be way too tight to ever be realistic.
The clouds aren't moving. All in all however, this is a highly specific criticism. I'm so getting this game!
According to the in-game chatbox, choppers need to be nerfed big time
anyway, I'm somewhat sceptical about this still. While it all looks awesome, from what I can tell the map is too small to really accommodate their speed.

Yeah everything was beautiful until he tried to fly straight up and the clouds were completely stationary.
So jets soul purpose is to shoot down other jets?
I thought I saw a opposing jet dropping bombs on a area, maybe that was something else.

Oh well, back to BF2.
Then again, I'm sure we will be getting the A-10 for some good ground pounding on other maps.
