Sony CEO Howard Stringer, a part-time member of the board, and deputy president Kunimasa Suzuki, have also stepped down from the board.
New board members appointed include EVP and CPO Kauzo Miura, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan president Hiroshi Kawano, and EVP Atsushi Morita.

Yeah, he isn't really stepping down. He's just relinquishing a few of his (many) positions within the company.

Sony needs to stop flubbing so much.
It seems like all they're doing are bad business decisions. IE, all sorts of stupid gimmicks that don't tie-in to their main products at all. I actually like the Playstation brand and hope they don't tank
Their Sony Mobile division is pumping out tons of phones right now like every month at least 3-4 phones are announced.

I liked their Xperia Play, great for emulation. They need to make more phones with gamepads, or even have a gamepad + keyboard combo.
They have great phones don't get me wrong, I have the Xperia Arc, but at the rate they are announcing phones they might become like HTC. I'm really interested in their Xperia Acro S since it's is waterproof,dustproof,scratchproof only if they had a better market then this would be totally fine.

That sucks that they're running a deficit, I usually really really like their products.
Just shouldn't have gone into the handheld market the way they did is all.
It's not just the Playstation division that is causing this (if anything, it's one of their more profitable divisions). Sony are a big company, their TV, player, audio and video sales are all quite low compared to others right now. They've been making odd choices for a while now, and a lot of their products are hella expensive (especially the TVs, oh god the TVs...)

There used to be a time where that price was justified, Sony products used to filled with quality and durability. Can't do that anymore, their products can't last for shit.

And their competitors have really upped their game. Samsung make some really nice home entertainment stuff now, and it isn't horribly priced. LG are hauling ass and making more expensive things, Sony seem to be sat in a middle ground of expensive, but less built products.
