What should a newbie to facepunch know about facepunch?

I wanna know since i have been signed up for about 6 or 7 days now. I dont wanna go around making mistakes also im planning to save this thread. So help me figure it out so i dont get myself banned or anything worse.

My suggestion: stay far away. You don't know what you're getting yourself into, leave while you still have a social life.
We're like TVTropes, but instead of simply feeding on free time we feed on intelligence AND free time.
Rule 1: There are many trolls on Facepunch. You must do your best not to feed these trolls, and completely ignore them.
Rule 2: Anime. Never talk about it outside specific threads in Fast Threads. If you decide to use an Anime avatar, remember that most (if not all) will disregard any sense-able post you make only to attack you for your strange liking to Anime.
Rule 3: GMF. Don't ask what this is, or lies shall be told.
Rule 4: Post in the right section. Don't start a thread about Gmod in the General Discussion area. There is a whole area dedicated to Garry's Mod below.
Rule 5: SEARCH! Go to google, type "site:facepunch.com" then whatever you want to search for, without the quotes. You may come across some really old threads (months old). If the thread isn't a Megathread, then you may want to think for a moment before either bumping that thread or starting a new one. If you DO start a new one, please say that you DID search for the old thread and if you found it, tell us just how old it is.
(Example: site:facepunch.com general games)

Rule 7: Don't PM users that you will hack them because they rated you dumb.
Rule 8: And above all, use common sense.
