It all started on a very cold, Australian day, I sat down and used my laptop... I went into the kitchen and got myself a drink, Suddenly i heard a bang and i droped my cup. I ran into were i had my laptop and thought "WHAT THE FLYING FUCK HAPPEN!?!?!?!" My parents jumping into the room and wondering "WHAT HAPPEN?!??" There was smoke coming from the Power box. I took out the plug that exploded and heres a pic: (By the way, Its a dell!) I found my old power cord and its working, But now im afraid thats gonna blow soon aswell...
Oh right.
What a shocking surprise. But from a Dell it really isn't.
buy new cord, life goes on
That's something you don't see every day.
Sounds like it could be a faulty socket/power surge. Happened to my brother once when he was on the old family computer, mini household explosions fun... It took it happening again to the PSU for us to get the socket repaired.

Get a new cord, and we'll all float on.

sue dell does nothing, it is the socket, not the thing plugged into it, just be happey it wasnt a night light with a bulb to explode
Interesting, tell us more :downs:
I got this from a tv power cord I got for $14 at an auction. Luckily it was a standard pc power cable running into a proprietary powerbox. Fizzing first, Then smoke then a bit of fire, Then burning my hand unplugging it and then finally it stopped and I pulled out another one from the back shed. However thats a shitty dell one. It's proprietary shit so you might be able to get one from ebay or something. [editline]10:58AM[/editline]
So sue dell?
If you can. Do it, I hate dell.
Dells are awesome, you just got unlucky.
wait what happen
My old Gateway one did that, I bought a Rayovac one, hasn't yet.
So sue dell?
He should sue himself for not keeping his electrical sockets in a safe condition. :downs:

Dell, Only the finest Overpriced Exploding computers how much did you pay for it?
That's something you don't see every day.
True, I live in America and I've never seen those type of plugs :v:
Laptop plugs banned in Australia.
Maybe because ive had it since 06?
Should last longer than that
This is shocking
huh, WHAT HAPPEN!?!?!
I'm confused, was this a laptop or a desktop?
How old is the plug you're currently using? It may be prudent to buy a new one, and invest in a surge protector if you haven't already.
Why did you drop your drink. All you did was waste a perfectly good drink

Dells are prone to explosion and have been known to cause mental retardation by trying to fix it. It is not at all surprising. Edit: Rate me funnies.
Dell, Only the finest Overpriced Exploding computers how much did you pay for it?
False. Macs are, but replace exploding with Shitty OS.
It's funny because it's a Dell.
