I'd love to see some WipEouT 64 stuff in the collection, too.
Please let this lead onto a brand new game.

Why 64? I never played that one, but isn't it just the Nintendo release of XL/2097? WipEout 3 needs some love. Why they're making WipEout HD HD is questionable too, probably because it was easy money.
With that said, I got a PS3 pretty much solely for WipEout HD/Fury, so time to buy a PS4 for WipEout HD HD.
I really love Wipeout so it's great to see it getting some attention again, but this does seem a bit half hearted. It's literally just Wipeout HD with the resolution turned up, it doesn't look like they've remodelled anything, even the textures look the same- it's either a zero effort port or wasted effort one, if they have in fact remade any assets. I suppose it's hard to expect a whole new instalment with Studio Liverpool shut down, but it would have been nice if only to get new tracks and visuals- all the tracks shown in the trailer here are existing WOHD tracks. Don't get me wrong though, Wipeout HD was absolutely brilliant and if you don't own it already then this is a fantastic opportunity to try it on a modern system, my concern is on whether it's worthwhile for existing players.
I suppose what we can be hoping for with this is more music, classic tracks (although again, all the tracks shown are from HD, and if no assets have been remade then it's safe to assume there's no art team on this, and so almost certainly no additional tracks, would love to be proven wrong though) and a reasonably low price tag. Active multiplayer will be nice too for anyone who picks this up, I don't have a PS4 so I suppose what I'd really like is a pc port with crossplay. Not getting my hopes up on that one, though.

It's gonna be fantastic seeing 2048 in 60fps though.
I like to hope that Sony is testing the water with these remasters, and if they sell good they'll pick the series back up for new games. Just a hope, though.

True that. Perhaps all the real work is going into remastering that, in the HD engine with HD/Fury bundled with? It's a shame they didn't show any footage from 2048 tracks because that's the one real selling point at the moment.
there's not much to be done anyway, the studio which made this game is gone already
