• Quota plan crisis as refugees refuse to go to Luxembourg
Syrian asylum seekers in Greece have refused to be relocated to Luxembourg, pushing the European Union’s scheme for migrant quotas close to collapse. The Times understands that plans to relocate 30 Syrians from Greece to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, one of Europe’s wealthiest countries, have been shelved because “very many” of them want to go to Germany instead. Diplomats report that there are also problems rounding up migrants to go to Estonia because Italian and Greek authorities are reluctant to force people to go where they do not want to.
http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/world/europe/article4587109.ece :v:
It's Luxembourg! Clearly they don't know what they're missing.
If they already have family/friends in Germany then what would they do in Luxembourg?
Unless they don't want to go to Luxembourg because they've got family in Germany, fuck 'm.
Unless they don't want to go to Luxembourg because they've got family in Germany, fuck 'm.
You mean all these men they sent first?
Luxurious refugees, christ. My friends whom came when the yugoslav wars was happening are so pissed right now at these people.
Luxembourg rejoices
wow how fucking entitled can you get?
If they already have family/friends in Germany then what would they do in Luxembourg?
Drink milk and eat honey.
They hear that Germany and the UK are where you can get free shit and opportunities so thats where they want to go.
Luxurious refugees, christ. My friends whom came when the yugoslav wars was happening are so pissed right now at these people.
did they at least get to live with their families?
If they already have family/friends in Germany then what would they do in Luxembourg?
Wait out the crisis before going back?
Wait out the crisis before going back?
Most of the current refugees will stay in Europe.
Exactly what I said in some past thread. Germany waves around with free shit and open arms and now everybody wants to get here. Family could be a real reason but that might be hard to check. Although I would only consider that as a valid reason if they are close family, that you lived with together.
the whole quota idea is an absolute farce from start to finish. suppose you settle the migrants evenly across the member states. there is literally nothing stopping them from decamping for germany anyway, because free movement of people is one of the pillars of the EU. unless you're imprisoning them in camps or making them wear ankle bracelets or something. it's like herding cats. [editline]20th October 2015[/editline]
Wait out the crisis before going back?
will never happen
Beggers can't be choosers. If they won't accept help as it is given to them then they're not really in need are they?
Isn't Luxemburg the country where everyone is a wealthy >6 foot tall superman?
wow how fucking entitled can you get?
I'd kill an entire family with a steak knife for a chance to live in Luxembourg. Jesus Christmas.
Wait out the crisis before going back?
I'm sorry but you are so in denial if you think these people will ever willingly want to return to Syria. If that was their plan then they would have settled in Turkey or in a safe country next to Syria to wait out the war and go back. The only reason they might want to go back later is if Europe won't bend at their demands and culture.
If they already have family/friends in Germany then what would they do in Luxembourg?
Maybe live there and visit?

Their economies, except for Turkey, are severely suffering with the overload. Some may actually be coming to Europe to escape the terrible camp conditions. We really won't know until we start getting numbers and whatnot. That said, if we aren't going to accept the refugees we should sure as hell send shitloads of aid to the refugee camps in the nations surrounding Syria. Of course this will never happen because we, as a first world nation, are a bunch of selfish pricks when it comes to things like this. Germany is at least trying to be the good guy but they've got the wrong idea.
I'm sorry Europeans, but I'm super duper happy I live in the US where the worst I have to deal with is a stray Mexican here and there. No mass refugee camps and flooding of displaced families for me.
What the hell's a migrant quota anyway. I didn't know Germany can legally force countries to open their doors to migrants, that seems a little against self-determination. I mean, if Germany wants to get their demographics all out of whack with the migrants they should let 'em, just don't force it on other countries, feels a little like those people that try to take someone with them when jumping on the train tracks.

This country has the largest single economy in Europe, but that still doesn't mean we can just sidestep the European democratic process like you allege :v: The migrant quota agreement was made less unanimously than normal, but a majority of country representatives still agreed to it. I don't think it's even legally binding as such, since it didn't go the slow way through parliament (yet) afaik, so that's another layer of voluntarism.
Wouldn't the governments next step then be just to deport them?
Glad to hear they don't want to come to Estonia
If they already have family/friends in Germany then what would they do in Luxembourg?
Be a refugee? oh wait nevermind.
Wouldn't the governments next step then be just to deport them?
illegal as fuck (if you mean sending the refugees to syria)
Glad to hear they don't want to come to Estonia
I don't think anyone does, refugee or otherwise.
Beggars can't be choosers?
