Half Life 2 always has some great epic music but I say that mostly Episode 1 and 2 are the best ones.
Always great to hear this type of music, fits the action perfectly, gets you pumped. Epic throughout the whole song no matter which one you listen to. The Half-Life series has always had some great music.

Half Life 1 has had some pretty great music, probably one of the best game soundtracks of its time.
Action packed from the start, it's one of the best game soundtracks I've listened to along with the Half Life 2, Episode 1, and Episode 2 soundtracks.

Call Of Duty soundtracks never really had any though put into them, but Call Of Duty 4 was a big change, the soundtrack clearly had a lot more thought put into it, thus making it one of those most epic, pumping game soundtracks in gaming history.

The Medal of Honor series had a great soundtrack, it always had the feel of the game and the action and it wasn't just a normal soundtrack it was like being in a movie. There is always this thrill of playing the game with the music playing as you parachute into Normandy or assault the beach. The music is everything.

Who doesn't immediately love this music, the catchy tunes, and what not. Zelda is a classic and the music is outstanding, it's great adventure music and it's great theme are the key parts of this game.

The music of a game makes it up, it's not just a small part, it's actually a huge part of any game and it needs to be great music to go with the game and fit the feeling, if there's no music then what is the game, a game without music is boring. Great music combined with great gameplay and action is what makes a great game.

Then there's the Command & Conquer Series (Before EA's rape, apart from the Soviet March theme from RA3), Universe at War, System Shock 2, Battlefield Series (Vietnam doesn't count because it uses actual songs not composed for the game)
All the Metroid Prime games have some intense electronic tracks. Mostly the boss fights, but there's some really good level music too.
