"The MPA has received six reports from health care professionals regarding narcolepsy as suspected adverse drug reaction following Pandemrix flu vaccination," it said in a statement.
"The agency will, in consultation with external experts, assess the possible relationship between the vaccination and the reported reactions," it added.
The reports concern children aged between 12 to 16 who developed symptoms compatible with narcolepsy, a chronic sleeping disorder, that occurred one to two months after vaccination against the H1N1 pandemic.
The Medical Products Agency said it was in contact with European Union member states for information on any similar reports in other countries.
Finland is also looking into the possible link between narcolepsy and the swine flu vaccination, in particular Pandemrix, following an increase in the sleeping disorder among children this spring, Finish news agency STT said. The preliminary results from the investigation are expected by the end of this year.
In the European Union, around 30 million people were vaccinated using Pandemrix. Sweden bought 18 million doses, which was enough to provide two injections for each person in its 9.3 million population.
According to Finland's National Health Institute, 2.5 million Finns were vaccinated against swine flu. Some 750 showed side effects, namely fevers, headaches and coughing and one case was linked to narcolepsy.
You fall asleep randomly without any warning.
Narcolepsy is fun.
A friend of mine has it, he's a great laugh for us
Narcolepsy is nothing to joke abo
This is why I didn't take the vaccine...
Call me paranoid but I figured that the shot wasn't very well tested because they came out with it way too soon.
Also I didn't figure I'd need it because swine flu was complete bullshit and I knew it wouldn't be the end of the world.
Well, good thing I didn't get myself a vaccination because I knew that some shit would happen because of it.
This vaccine was completely banned in Finland.
I love how the doctors said that it had been tested so thoroughly that it's safe to take.
Only about 140 million euros gone to waste.
I had swineflu mixed with a sinus infection, trust me folks, that was hell.
i have narcolepsy.
it's shit.
i have narcolepsy.

It's not fecal matter, it's a disease!

But seriously, that sucks.
Better get to work on that narcolepsy vaccination that causes swine flu.
I felt a little sick after receiving my H1N1 vaccine. Maybe it was just a placebo.
I felt a little sick after receiving my H1N1 vaccine. Maybe it was just a placebo.
 That's the point of a vaccination you feel shit because your body builds up everything and lbahblahblahblah basic biology.
Glad I didn't take it. I actually had the flu, it wasn't anything really just stayed in bed for a few days and it was all over.
Well, fuck.
I took it, but I don't really care if it's true or not.

draw a moustache on his ass every time so when he wakes up he has a moustache on his ass
This is why its better to let your immune system handle it yourself.
So what if you have to take a couple days off and deal with the onslaught. Its better than narcolepsy.

whenever i fall asleep i draw a mustache on my face it;s wikkid funny.

any vaccine can cause many different symptoms that can permanently damage someone.
There have been many found connections between vaccines and autism, and now apparently narcolepsy.

Because the whole slough of deadly childhood diseases which we no longer get is definitely less damaging than a nearly unconfirmed risk of autism. Let's all go back to the time when we had to deal with diseases such as the measles, which could cause blindness, deafness, or brain damage which, (gasp!) can leave a kid mentally retarded! Or perhaps tetanus, which kills three out of every ten people who get it :downs:
I am going to have no sympathy for anyone who refuses to vaccinate their children, and then complains when their child gets some disease that ends up killing them or screwing them up for life. I guess my point is that even if there is a risk of damage from vaccines, going back to a time before vaccines wouldn't be any better, in fact it would probably be worse.

i have never been vaccinated in my life, and i have never had a problem with any diseases of any type. The worst sickness i have ever had is food poisoning because some idiot cooked up some old sausage at a hotel.
And what about the people who get diseases even if they are vaccinated for them? i'm not going to sympathize with them, and neither will the people who created this miracle vaccine that will supposedly protect you from the disease while they make millions of dollars in the process.

Holy cow!
It was a requirement for people to have this where I work, otherwise they loose their job.
Luckily for me i joined just after they stopped enforcing it, but it explains why everyone yawns all the time.
You are utterly late.
But yes, that is the reason for why i didn't take the vaccine. Most people where quite annoyed at me for that reason, but what the heck, i'd rather get a flu then go cp.

That's because we currently have herd immunity. Enough people have taken the vaccine to surround everyone who hasn't with people who are immune. Because the people who haven't been vaccinated are surrounded by people who are immune, they'll never encounter the disease and won't catch it. Normally this would be fine and dandy, but the more people who refuse the vaccine, the weaker herd immunity gets. Eventually it passes a threshold where the disease can spread amongst the unvaccinated population, and then there's a problem. And since when has vaccination been a "miracle cure"? I'd say it's pretty well supported that they work most of the time. Admittedly, I caught chickenpox even after the vaccine, albeit it was significantly weaker then I would have had had I not taken it, considering I only got about 12 spots as opposed to the average 200.
