These Syfy movies become a lot less funny once they start becoming intentionally bad. What made most Syfy movies funny to me was that they were trying to make serious movies, but ended up with a disastrously funny result. Examples include: Beneath Loch Ness, Snakehead Terror, Wyvern, Hydra, the Lake Placid sequels, Anaconda 3 and 4, etc. These had a serious atmosphere, which in turn made them funny because they were so awful.
Once these movies start becoming intentionally aware they're bad, they lose their comedy factor.
Holy shit this looks fucking great I might cry
Chupacabra vs the Alamo was the best syfy movie I have ever seen in terms of actual production quality.
