• 2 Pussy Riot Members Reportedly Flee Russia
Two members of the punk band Pussy Riot have fled Russia to avoid prosecution for a protest against Vladimir Putin that sent three of their band mates to prison, the group said Sunday. Five members of the feminist group took part in a provocative performance inside Moscow's main cathedral in February to protest the Russian leader's rule and his cozy relationship with the Orthodox Church. The women wore their trademark garishly colored balaclavas, which made it difficult for police to identify them, and only three were arrested. After a controversial trial that highlighted Putin's crackdown on dissent since he began a third presidential term in May, the three band members were convicted of hooliganism and sentenced to two years in prison on Aug. 17. Days later, Moscow police said they were searching for the other band members, an apparent warning to the group to stop its anti-Putin protests. Even as the judge was reading the verdict in a Moscow courtroom, one of the band members who had escaped arrest played Pussy Riot's latest song, "Putin sets the fires of revolutions," from the balcony of an apartment building across the street. Pussy Riot tweeted on Sunday that the two activists had fled Russia and are "recruiting foreign feminists to prepare new protest actions." No mention was made of where they went. At least 12 other members of the group remain in Russia, another message on Twitter said.
Source So... how is extradition law to Russia?

If they flee to somewhere like Ukraine or Belarus, then they're pretty much fucked
Good move on their part. There's nothing for them in this police state.

Bet they have sold more albums than ever since this whole thing began.
They are going to leave prison with quite a hefty net worth, I bet. Though I am not sure if that makes going to prison two years AT ALL worth it.
How fucking big is this band? More like an orchestra
Maybe they could be counting all the support personnel as part of the group.
I guess it really was a pussy riot.
buncha pussies
oh god two years in prison in russia
Isn't there some kind of highly contagious lung disease going through a bunch of prisons in Russia?
Isn't there some kind of highly contagious lung disease going through a bunch of prisons in Russia?
Diseases in general. They just put the people in there and don't take space into consideration.
Isn't there some kind of highly contagious lung disease going through a bunch of prisons in Russia?
Tuberculosis runs rampant in their prisons. Combine that with terrible temperatures and generally shit treatment by the staff, and you're in for a very rough ride.
Isn't there some kind of highly contagious lung disease going through a bunch of prisons in Russia?
Yea its called sub-500 daily calorie intake If they come out they'll have stars on their knees and shoulders :v:
This is the only example of one of their performances I could find on youtube.
they sound like a bunch of fuckin dykes
How fucking big is this band? More like an orchestra
Pussy Riot is a collective, so there are a bunch of members, but not everyone contributes to every song.

Clever. Minus the three suckers who go to prison of course, but maybe they shouldn't have believed Amnesty International when they told them they gonna send in a bunch of heavily armed human rights activists to free them from jail in a daring commando raid. They gambled, they lost. Not exactly my kind of hero, just like the self-promoting man-haters from FEMEN.
Bet they have sold more albums than ever since this whole thing began.
They don't even have albums. They just get on stage and start dancing like idiots while freestyling lyrics to bad riffs.
