The worlds running out of water, there are more and more natural disasters, people are dying and others are saying emo lines about how great it is to die, war, famine, fossile fuels running low. People just can't take it anymore, then OH HOLY SHIT!!! GIANT SPACE FARING FLIES ATTACK FFFFUUUU!!

haha. you know minus the giant space flies that's not such a bad idea.
Main thing I'm after is a plot line with a twist at the end. Hard to pull off without feeling like im copying someone else :(
