This was a fake movie trailer that my two friends and I made for a project in college. The title of the movie was spelled incorrectly on purpose because the movie is supposed to be about pandas. It was our commentary on how movie trailers, no matter what they're about can usually look good before coming to theaters and we wanted do the same, but take it to a ridiculous level. I'm the one with the striped blue shirt and long hair. Watch in HD! This was basically our first time using After Effects and film as well.
I like it, but the acting was a bit weird.
At 1:21 is that some Half life I spot? :v: And Breen at the end. Edit: What onox37 said.
I keep telling people this and no one ever pays attention. I know for a fact that you are using the Action Essentials 2 clips because I recognize them and I'm 100% sure you didn't buy them. You need to watch a tutorial or two about it and then practice it a ton on your own time. The problem with a lot of your explosions and clips you used were just barely tracked and thrown onto the shot. You need to layer them and add some different color corrections and what not. It's not about the big picture so much as the little details. When you shot your gun, why weren't there any shells? Why was there a random explosion on the roof of the garage? Another thing that bothered me is that you jumped from a parking garage roof to another building but then when it showed the background it was still under construction (haha). I wish David was here to tell you about the 360 rule because frankly, I don't know it. The smoke from when you landed was unnecessary and you didn't even color correct it. It's still tan. All you did was resize it. The explosions at the very end are very awkward as well. The sound effects need a lot of work. Try to combine sound effects instead of just using one for what it should be. On youtube, look up freddiew2 and you'll see his behind the scenes stuff. I did however like the garage shots where the guy was running past the pillars. Tracked perfectly and the effects were decent. I also liked you how implemented garrys mod into that. Well done.
Thanks for the criticism. If we every do make another one we'll try not to rush it and do what you said and pay attention to the small details which make up a huge part of the final piece. Yeah, it was Action Essentials and it's pretty easy to tell, I hope I didn't sound like we made those ourselves. Once you see the Action Essentials it's easy to spot, cause now I do it too haha.
Noticed you would be running right to left then left to right the next clip, around 0:47 not sure if it was actually supposed to be continuous or not but it looked a bit weird.
What onox said and work on your muzzle flashes, freddiew2 has one that looks like yours as a "bad" example. Also any videocopilot stuff is easy to spot.
Minus a few bits of the acting being weird I thought it was pretty good. The explosion on the roof as that guy ran down the hallway was just so random and fake though like an old video game explosion effect - it seemed to "thin" like it didn't have volume. Some stuff was pretty nice for a first try. Keep improving. :buddy:
Pretty cool, but I expected pandas. There were no pandas.
If you'd like, tomorrow when I'm not busy I can do a screenshot'd breakdown for you.
