CEO Michael Dell alerted the masses via Twitter that his company would begin accepting the digital currency, claiming that the outfit is "world's largest ecommerce business" to do so. The device maker is partnering with Coinbase to power its transactions, and those looking to snag a new Alienware rig will earn a discount when forking over Bitcoin for payment.
No one smart enough to know how to use Buttcoin is going to be the special level of stupid required to buy Dell products.
No one smart enough to know how to use Buttcoin is going to be the special level of stupid required to buy Dell products.
hey hey hey hey their business lineup isn't that bad. Even though they're kinda bricky compared to the competition. [editline]f[/editline] their monitors are pretty decent too.
I assume they're still just using Bitcoin as a proxy for USD?
No one smart enough to know how to use Buttcoin is going to be the special level of stupid required to buy Dell products.
Their professional monitor line is absolutely bitchin'.
I assume they're still just using Bitcoin as a proxy for USD?
Well of course, Coinbase converts it for them. The reason why Newegg and Dell are offering discounts is probably because the fees are significantly lower than Paypal. [editline]19th July 2014[/editline] All things considered, whether you support Bitcoin or not having more competition among payment processors is a good thing. If more major businesses starts supporting Bitcoin, Paypal and the like are going to have to compete too.
No one smart enough to know how to use Buttcoin is going to be the special level of stupid required to buy Dell products.
Dell business stuff is damn good actually.
No one smart enough to know how to use Buttcoin is going to be the special level of stupid required to buy Dell products.
What's wrong with Dell?
What's wrong with Dell?
Their consumer grade stuff is either overpriced or poor in quality.
No one smart enough to know how to use Buttcoin is going to be the special level of stupid required to buy Dell products.
Their server lineups are some of the best besides UCS. Dell is fairly good, it gets a bad rep because people fail to upgrade their 7 year old dells and just blame the label and now what they purchased and how they maintained it. [editline]19th July 2014[/editline]
What's wrong with Dell?
People make poor purchasing dissensions, Dell is nowhere near as bad as HP, but not as good as lenovo. [editline]19th July 2014[/editline]
No one smart enough to know how to use Buttcoin is going to be the special level of stupid required to buy Dell products.
It's a great way to to laundry money, buy HW and resell it.
Dell monitors are the shit. I've got a really old Dell LCD and it's a tank.
Dell Computers are iffy. Dell Computer Accessories I find to be pretty decent. I have a nice pair of computer speakers from them, and a pretty kick ass monitor too
Their consumer grade stuff is either overpriced or poor in quality.
most of the time both
dell products are solid as fuck. their monitors are genuinely some of the best and their business and high-end laptops are too. their consumer grade laptops aren't much to speak about but the likes of lenovo are much worse that said though, i don't know why you would purchase dell products on their official site. they sell stuff far below their MSRP on amazon and the likes [editline]20th July 2014[/editline] the only good lenovo laptops are a select few of the thinkpad line. don't kid yourself thinking they're any better than dell or HP's entry level consumer laptops most people calling dell products as a whole are dumb. these are the kinds of people that have hardly used dell products beyond their grandmother's dell dimension
This will go the way of every other business accepting bitcoin - a surge from enthusiasts followed by a decline in payment via bitcoin to negligible amounts. When half your users are hoarding hoping the price to rise, buying stuff isn't too high on the agenda.
Sorry Dell but until you accept Dogecoin you won't get a cent of my life savings.
the only good lenovo laptops are a select few of the thinkpad line. don't kid yourself thinking they're any better than dell or HP's entry level consumer laptops
And even then, they are comparably shit to when IBM had the Thinkpad brand.
why not dogecoin

It's a wonder why you're not a billionaire already. [editline]19th July 2014[/editline]
why not dogecoin
They don't ship to the moon.
Obviously, you know more about business than these incredibly successful companies. It's a wonder why you're not a billionaire already.
Hey power to Dell for trying to capture some tech niche market. It wont amount to much though.
Hey power to Dell for trying to capture some tech niche market. It wont amount to much though.
Well, you certainly have statistics proving that, don't you?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overstock.com#Bitcoin
On the 9th January 2014, Overstock.com became the first major retailer in the world to start accepting Bitcoin as payments for its goods.[70] On the first day, they made sales worth US$126,000 in Bitcoin.[71] This represents a 4.33% increase in sales from their normal income of $3 million per day.[72] As of 13 March 2014, Overstock Bitcoin income had shrunk to under 1% of their normal daily cash intake.[73] In a community interview with social media site Reddit on 3 May 2014, in response to a question to the Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne about the percentage of revenue and transactions paid for in Bitcoin, Byrne responded that the percentage was "Tiny. <.1%".[74]
As I said, after the initial surge it dials down a lot.

The second one just says there's not much of a surge at all.
then it's worse than I suggested?
then it's worse than I suggested?
It's just not what you suggested. Either way, it doesn't invalidate Bitcoin in any way.
No one smart enough to know how to use Buttcoin is going to be the special level of stupid required to buy Dell products.
i dont see the advantage of purchasing anything with bitcoin while its as unstable as it is
dell's equipment works well for offices and schools and similar places such as that but I'm not 100% sure how many of their main consumers (business etc) are actually bitcoin users :v:
Dell is fairly good, it gets a bad rep because people fail to upgrade their 7 year old dells and just blame the label and now what they purchased and how they maintained it.
My dad bought a brand new Dell PC and it had so much Adware it wasn't even funny, it was still popping up on a timer after a month.
My dad bought a brand new Dell PC and it had so much Adware it wasn't even funny, it was still popping up on a timer after a month.
That's great but all manufacturers do this.
