Back in school I wasn't the best student, I didn't have very many friends and my grades were pretty average despite me being in a pretty low class.
Today I'm doing alright though, I'm in Uni atm, doing a degree in Masters and PhD. All that jazz. But rewind back to my school years. I was in the lowest level of everything and doing slightly above average.
Now my science teacher, he was probably the best teacher in the school. He always took an interest in me, I actually cared about my work rather than the other guys, I had a real interest in science, but I was always quiet up the back. So your typical anti social student.
My science teacher started giving me harder work, he believed I could do it, and I could. As the year went on he gave me more and harder work, and taught me much more advanced stuff. When I told him what I wanted to do with my life, do a PhD in astronomy, he said this exact like
"That's a tall dream, but I'm not gonna say you cant do it. I'll support you to the hills"
He proceeded to teach me all he knew, move me up to more advanced levels and tutor me during my free time in fields I'd needed to know more in, maths and such.
The year ended soon and I left that school, fast forward to a few weeks ago. I was doing some shopping when I bump into a man I knew. It was my old science teacher. We started talking, about how I was doing. I explained to him that I was on my way, and he simply had the biggest smile on his face, like of pure joy. I invited him for some coffee and he told me how much work he had put in to teaching me as much as he could in the field I wanted to do a PhD in. He did such a huge amount of work and never gave up on me.
He went on to say how glad he was that I worked as hard as I did to get where I am and such, we talked about our common interests and we parted ways once again. Soon I'll be moving away to a bigger city in order to further my dream, but I'll never forget what he did for me.
If this science teacher was on Facepunch, I would rate him hearts multiple times.
If only more teachers were like this. People would actually go to school and, better yet, learn something.
This one time I had sex with my science teacher on a blog.
your sceience teacher was a pretty damn cool guy
What a cool teacher. Most teachers when I went to school didn't give a FUCK about their students.

See this what I'm talking about... messed up childhood! :colbert:
i have a teacher like that, he's pretty cool. it's amazing how many people only teach people because they have to.
Reminds me of my physics teacher, he was awesome.
On the downside he made me ground a fluorescent light tube with my hand, I learned that day your knuckles feel no pain. :science:
My physics teacher has loads of interesting stories and is a massive fan of prog rock :iia:
Fuck, the man sounds like he was a second dad to you.
It puts a smile on my face knowing that there still are some teachers who actually care about their students as individuals, and act supportive respectively.
My physics teacher has loads of interesting stories and is a massive fan of prog rock :iia:
My physics teacher looked like albert einstein but younger, he would start writing something on the board just to get carried talking about random stuff and then when he looked back at the board he couldn't remember what he was doing so he'd erase it all and start over... multiple times :v:

sue me please
I LIVE FOR THE DUMBS GIVE ME THE DUMBS FOR MY DUMBWAITER IN MY HOUSE
what's it like studying for a degree in astronomy?
i've been interested in the field but i can't find much information as to studying for it
My science teacher was some young punk chick. Despite completely not looking the part, she was one of the best teachers I ever had. She cared about her job, unlike most of the older ones. She couldn't get enough of what happens when you pour sulfuric acid on sugar and had these ugly lumps of black crap all over her desk in jars.
My history/math/accounting/calculus teacher was another cool one, eccentric middle-aged guy who let us build catapults and had a "dress up as a viking day" in history and let us play Texas Hold'Em (for money) in accounting because we finished the curriculum 3 weeks early.
D'awwww :3:
Rated heart
So wait, your teacher taught you science and didn't afraid of anything?
Seriously though, I never had an awesome Science teacher, but I do have the best and most awesome History teacher on the planet.
Best science teacher I ever had was this guy who was literally insane
He walked around making that woody woodpecker laugh and shouting "catch that pigeon now!"
Whenever he needed to refer to a large object for a theory, or a heavy weight, he would refer to his wife.
Some lessons he would stretch out the register, by after asking someones name, he'd ask them a question. We learned a whole lot in that lesson, whithout even getting to one.
He sounds nice :ohdear:
My Electronics teacher was brilliant and taught me a ton of interesting shit, the only problem was that he seemed to be teaching me everything but Electronics.
My current physics teacher is a really cool guy. Besides wanting to teach and wanting help students, he's outspoken about our school's shitty staff that screwed up our schedules and caused mass confusion and anger. If he got fired I'd be one of the first to demand him back.
My history teacher from my sophomore year was also the kind that wanted to help students. He was also funny and told jokes to move us along. :3:
Which is why I want to be a teacher, to help people.
he fancied you
Also my tech studies teacher was like Grissom from CSI but older :v:
He was a cunt :colbert:
My music teacher years back knew Elvish and headed the Warhammer club :v:
My Science teacher just makes cheesy jokes.
Our science teacher made poeple draw a detailed penis on A3 paper and present it to the class if they wouldn't shut up.
Yeah, my Science teachers have been pretty awesome. It's always been my best class besides Math classes. This year though my Biology teacher is kinda meh. Can't wait to get done with my Freshman year and take Chemistry and Physics.
My Science teacher just makes cheesy jokes.
Oh god that was my science teacher, I only remember this one though;
'Why did the teacher need glasses?
Cos he couldn't get his pupils to concentrate'
My Science teacher just makes cheesy jokes.
My science teacher made a cheesy joke once.
He said "Whats this?" and tensed his body, put his arms by his side and feet touching eachother
"The fetal position for a test tube baby"
Our chemistry teacher is hilarious.
Let's just say he has a facebook group devoted to how awesome he is.
