Just a few notes what you can improve :
-Lighting needs fixing in a few spots, either lights are too bright (both turning down the alpha and just moving them a little more into the middle of the room help) or it's too dark (I know you want to put a stronger accent on you not being supposed to be in that broken area, but it's still too dark)
-Add detail to the brushwork, the transition between the support tunnels and actual rooms are just flat planes
-Use Decals for the signs instead of brushes, it will look just as flat as the original maps
- (very very optional) make all the blocks on the texture fit on the ground / wall / ceiling
Keep improving and it will become a great map!
Also on a side note, baking all the models and textures into the .bsp is only gonna stay effective if you stav at one map.

Yeh, it's only one map. And the Squad3 is going to be for HL2, and not Portal. And I don't have ANY additional mods for HL2, only vanilla, making it all easier.

I'll assure you I tried making it an overlay. However Hammer doesn't approve and made the result a giant, oversized, low-res image.

You can scale overlays down on the corners in the 2D-Views unless I'm misunderstanding something here.

Decal =/= Overlay.
You use the overlay application tool not the decal tool.
