Annual Neo-Nazi assembly in Sweden gathers approximately 800 persons - Polidicks

Today, the 11th December, for the tenth year in a row the Swedish Neo-Nazi movement gathers in the municipality of Salem in Stockholm to salute the murder of the Swedish Neo-Nazi Daniel Wretström. Approximately 800 persons have gathered to march trough the municipality carrying torches and to protest against "Violence against Swedes". A large police force is stationed because of the risk of far left protesters getting into fights with the Nazis. Daniel Wretström was a young Neo-Nazi and skinhead who on the 9th December 2000 was brutally beaten up and murdered by a gang of immigrants and anti-racists. Since then every winter far right organisations such as Info 14, the National Democrats, the Party of the Swedes (formerly National Socialist Front) and the Swedish Resistance Movement has had a march in his memory, gathering Neo-Nazis from all of Sweden. At it's peak the march gathered over 2000 persons. As ironic as it may seem, the Salem municipality has recently gained the award as the safest municipality in Sweden. The municipality has for several years tried to stop or move the manifestation. But with no success due to freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.
