[QUOTE]Moments after being mown down by a drunk policeman whose car had slewed out of control, teenager Darya Nesterova was hit by the ambulance which had been called to help her.
The 15-year-old, who had been walking along a road in Kargasok in Siberia’s Tomsk Region, was with a group of two friends who were also knocked over by the speeding cop.
It is not yet clear whether Nesterova was killed by the injuries from the initial crash or the additional trauma of being hit by the ambulance as she lay in the road.

Nesterova was still lying in the road when medics rushed to the scene – and apparently the driver could not see her in the road until it was too late.
“The weather was bad, there was snow with rain. The driver of the ambulance did not see on the damp black asphalt the youngest girl, who was dressed in black. The glare of headlights and rooftop lights made it hard to see,” regional head Anatoly Rozhkov told RIA Novosti.
Daria’s two sixteen year old friends were taken to hospital with concussion; one of them had a broken ankle. The head doctors in Kargasok hospital said they were in a satisfactory condition. The girls are only known as Nastya Z and Anna Ch.
“The girls, who live in a boarding school for children from far regions, went to a shop 150 metres from the school. Halfway down the road they were hit by a car driven by a policeman,” Rozhkov added. The policeman’s Toyota crashed into the girls walking along the road from behind, they were thrown on the road from the impact.
The girls had been hit next to a bus stop, and that part of the road was well lit, but eye-witnesses were “waving their arms and the driver did not understand where he was supposed to go.”
The 49-year-old driver has been working on the ambulances since 2007; he has 15 years driving experience.

The body of the dead girl will be taken to Ust-Tym village in the north of Tomsk region where her mother lives. The authorities are to decide on the size of the compensation for the family.
This death was not the first tragedy for the family. “Today is 40 days since the girl’s father died in a car crash,” Rozhkov said. “We will support her mother; we will provide all the necessary help for her and her elder daughter, 18, who lives in Nizhnevartovsk. It is a low-income family, her mother works as a shop assistant.”
Investigators found that the police ensign was driving a work car outside of working hours and was drunk. He was subsequently fired, and a pre-investigation check was started.[/QUOTE]
