Nah ECM and flares can be used to avoid them.

flares can't be used to avoid them and ECM can only be used before it's shot or it doesn't do anything and it's a 1 hit kill

Nope, since the patch in april/may flares get rid of ATGM's. Several Jets and helicopters lost my missiles. Learn to read patch notes.
