"We thought it could be a little mouse, but after a while we figured it couldn't be because it was making too much noise," Signe Bengtsson told The Local. Her worst fears were confirmed while emptying the trash a few days later when she saw a rat guzzling leftovers under the sink. "It was right there in our rubbish bin, a mighty monster. I was petrified. I couldn't believe such a big rat could exist," she said. "I couldn't help but do the old classic and jump on the kitchen table and scream." Her husband Erik Korsås who was away at the time was dubious that such an enormous rat could really be living in his kitchen. "When my wife called I said 'Yeah, sure, take it easy, I'll be home on Sunday. But by then it had jumped into the waste bin and had a Swedish smörgåsbord with all the leftovers," he said. As the rat made more appearances over the next day, the family took to stomping around as they passed the kitchen to ensure they wouldn't meet the rat from hell again. "By the time I got home, the rat was so domesticated that it just sat under the kitchen table," Korsås explained, adding that it had chewed through the water pipes connected to the dishwater and started a small flood. When the family saw the rat scurrying into a nook behind the dishwasher, they put the kitchen on lockdown and called the pest controllers, who arrived with three heavy-duty traps. By the nine divines! This is one big fat rat.

If you take his tail to the Rat King, he'll congratulate you on killing one of his vanguards and let you join his covenant.

seems less like fantasy now
how did that rat even managed to hide in the house
It put on a dress and posed as their daughter.

Easiest miniboss of Dark Souls. I beat him on accident in one hit; just fell in his hole and did a drop-attack out of reflex.
Admiral Bulldog....?
The more impressive fact rather than the size of that rat is how this dude managed to get a rat trap that damn big in the first place.

cute
My dad dug up something like that once from our compost pile. it fucking chased him around over the lawn until finally he smacked it dead with the shovel!
That's a pretty humiliating death for a king-sized rat. Would have expected some splinters sticking from its carcass as a sign of a recently fought battle.
If you took its tail to Bahamut, he'd probably upgrade your class 10 times over.
From the title I was expecting the remains of A huge rat from the 700s to 1200s during the viking period that was found

There must have been warpstone under the floorboards. That's usually how you get an infestation of skaven.
looks like a possum
looks like a possum
I think it actually is a rat. Possum's tend to be uglier.
looks like a possum
yeah I have opossums all around me in Florida and this doesn't look like one of those beady-eyed angry motherfuckers; looks like a viking rat.
It's actually the size of a cat. Damn
