In short, $3.2 million spent. UNDER BUDGET AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. Mueller's Statement of Expenditures
They'll find a way to complain it's too much in an attempt to shut it down, when Trump has spent like 20x this amount golfing.
They'll find a way to complain it's too much in an attempt to shut it down, when Trump has spent like 20x this amount golfing.
Hillary's not in cuffs so he's doing an utterly shit job. (Even though that's not his job.)
I bet when this is reported on right-wing news, like Fox, they're going to put heavy emphasis on the amount by phrasing it like "he's spent $3.2 MILLION tax payers dollars on a wild goose chase"
I was a bit concerned about the $1.7M in payroll in just over four months, but then I checked the team size. Sixteen lawyers plus "more than three dozen" staff? That's only $90K/yr a person average, which isn't all that much for DC, and is an absurdly good deal on top-notch lawyers.
Also, the $1.2 million were DoJ staff that would've been paid regardless of a special counsel or not.
Hillary's not in cuffs so he's doing an utterly shit job. (Even though that's not his job.)
what? I'm not really understanding what you're getting at here
what? I'm not really understanding what you're getting at here
They're stating what they believe the position the GOP and Republican Party will take regarding Mueller and his job performance thus far, relative to this report on how he's spent government money during this investigation (which is that they don't care how much money he's spent, they'll just use it as an opportunity to attack him because he's not doing what they want him to do).
what? I'm not really understanding what you're getting at here
Alice was suggesting the expected response of a trump supporter might be "Hillary's not in cuffs so he's doing an utterly shit job," Alice themself probably doesn't actually think that.
what? I'm not really understanding what you're getting at here
If you ask Trump supporters, Hillary is the real criminal and the new talking point to delegitimize the investigation is that the FBI is corrupt and intentionally looked the other way on Hillary while going balls-out hyperaggressive against the Trump campaign/administration with Flynn and co, after Mueller moved an investigator off the team and into an assignment elsewhere for exchanging heavily-biased anti-Trump/pro-Hillary texts last year with a woman in the FBI he was romantically involved with at the time. As usual, the idea is to lie until it looks like Trump is the victim. According to the coauthor (really, half-credited ghostwriter) of The Art of the Deal, Trump lies effortlessly and unflinchingly and always seeks to paint himself as the aggrieved victim in a dispute and this pattern of behaviour is consistent over multiple decades. He's internalized the art of gaslighting.
what? I'm not really understanding what you're getting at here
The pundits already have taken the position that he is a hillary shill who stocked his entire investigation with hillary shills. Never mind that just months ago they were emphatic about how he was impartial and the gold standard of investigation. OR that he did the right thing and releaved one agent of duty when gave they even the slightest impression of being partial, OR OR that he has been getting convictions It would seem that we will not get any action by congress as long as the gop controls it, especially since the moderates are bailing instead of fighting back
This might yield the of best return of investment for any US gov't project ever.
Watch as Republicans start moaning about how much money Mueller is wasting while ignoring the amount of money that has been spent for Trump to play golf.
Right off the bat, I have to say I don't particularly like making people's arguments for them. But you're absolutely right, that's exactly how this is going to be framed. They won't care how big this budget actually is and how it compares to predictions or most other investigations. 3.2 million sounds like a lot of money and that's all they need

We know what Muellers spent, we know what Trumps spent, shouldn't it just be easy to point out reality? But apparently it isn't and that terrifies me.

The office said those expenses would have been incurred “irrespective of the existence of the SCO.“
Source: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/12/05/muellers-russia-probe-spent-nearly-7m-in-first-few-months.html What sleazy fucks

Those agents were taken from their normal work essentially costing the department their salaries. With that said, I'm not complaining. That doesn't seem like an unreasonable amount.
what? I'm not really understanding what you're getting at here
It's exactly like others already explained. I'm not making an actual claim that's as retarded as my post would suggest. I was mocking the people who constantly deflect this investigation with garbage about Clinton.
Mueller's staff also left some high paying jobs to do this case.
Watch as Republicans start moaning about how much money Mueller is wasting while ignoring the amount of money that has been spent for Trump to play golf.
http://trumpgolfcount.com Cost to Taxpayer: At least $83,113,328

If Mueller had to crowdfund an investigation, he'd have a basically bottomless budget.

I'd love to help set some new funding records for Patreon et al. if such a Patreon were to show up.
Oh, man, imagine the patron reward tiers. Anyone who pledges more than 150 a month gets to take a selfie outside Trump's cell after he's convicted.

can we get stretch goals where he also imprisons the assholes in the presidential line of succession?
