It looks nice but contains a lot of predictable video game tropes.
That's just the console version they're showing?
Holy hell the PC version is going to be beautiful.
My god, that looks amazing.
Wow I just started playing metro 2033 again as well. It looks so nice, I can't wait.
As soon as I saw the demon in the sky I was like "fuck that hell NO"
imagine trying to defend yourself from it and not get into water.
Hope they follow through with the stealth things you can do, for example you could maybe knock that light off when the ferry is working or something? That would be amazing.

In a preview I read they said they improved the enemy AI to make stealth better, including knocking out lights.

Yes, which is why I hope we can break that light and avoid battles like this, I can't really get my hopes up though because this seems mega-scripted.
I'm not liking this one bit.
I was sceptical when they added the red dots on the guns, and made them fire faster in the early trailer.
And now my suspicions were correct, they are giving metro the call of duty treatment.
- Hit markers.
- Quick knife animations
- claymores, for some reason.
- artyom went from barely fighting one creature at a time, to fighting demons and huge swamp lobsters at the same time.
besides all that it still looks like a metro game, and the atmosphere looks right. I'm sceptical but im open.

Call of duty didn't really invent that stuff.
Hit markers can also be kind of useful when your enemies tend to jump around a lot. I know replaying metro 2033 I have found point were I'm not sure if I'm hitting the enemies or not.
Quick knives I'm not bothered about either since equiped knives tend to be terrible, I never use them in games.

Makes it all the more fun to not know whether your bullet is wasted or not.
I assume that there would be an option or difficulty that disables hitmarkers.

Either way, they'll probably put in difficulty levels that take that stuff out like many games do so I wouldn't start worrying yet.
looks too mainstream
Looks awesome, one thing I hope for Last Light is more flashbacks like this

"Spiders"
WELP IM OUT.
Metro, stop.
If the graphics of this game keeps going up like this, my PC will be responsible for a god damn nuclear winter.
Trying around the jerry cans instead of a writing or voice "They're empty" is such a nice detail.
Seems a bit "Modern FPS"-ized to me, but it'll still be good probably.
Looks a bit consoley, he swallowed quite a lot of damage. But that can change for the PC version.
Loved 2033
Jesus christ almighty rip arachnophobics

Why? Do you have a Nvidia card?
Why? Do you have a Nvidia card?
Pfft, no. Everyone knows that Nvidia doesn't run on nuclear power?
My XFX card, on the other hand.

He's probably just playing it on an easy difficulty so they can show off the game without getting killed

I just hope they don't end up on your gas mask like the flies.
I just hope they don't end up on your gas mask like the flies.
I think I saw a demo were they do end up on the mask.
A lot of your complaints are a bit silly. It looks consoley because he's playing on a console, he takes so much damage because he's probably playing it on a low difficulty. Oh no, red dots, this game is going to be shit. I never used the knife in 2033 so the quick knife thing should be a nice addition. And hit markers, I don't care. Maybe you can turn them off in UI settings or something. Who knows.
I don't get the comment he's fighting too much shit at the same time. There were a lot of times in the first game were mutants swarmed you. He does survive a lot, truth is once you got the armor upgrade you did survive quite a beating. Maybe he has it in the video. As for the hit markers, I wouldn't mind an option to disable them.

Oh come on, the airplace cockpit vision gameplay video some months back had spiders getting on your mask. :v:
