• Saw a stray cat today (sad read)

I had to walk home from school today. On the way, I saw this cat on the porch of a house. It walked over to me and I could see it had been neglected. I thought at first, "The owner of this guy is a POS." Then I looked closely at it. I know this is stupid, but I pet the thing and you could feel it's spine and bones. Its hair is in large clumps, it has bruises and marks on it's face, the hair is a mess. The cat probably hasn't had food or water for a very long time. It followed me for a little while, stopping and meowing every little bit at passing cars. Then my friend pulled to the side of the road and offered me a ride. He joked about the cat and stuff. Then the worst happens. It sees the open car door and hops in. Then, I felt seriously really bad for the cat. So my friend, still jokingly, takes the cat and places it back on the sidewalk. Then I got in and he drove off, leaving the cat alone. I don't hate my friend for not taking the situation seriously. I just hate, HATE seeing anything suffer. But honestly, when you think about how cats and animals can think for themselves and have a soul....you just shudder at what they might be thinking of. In this cat's case, it was being lonely, hungry and scared. I don't even want to say what it probably thought after I left after I gave it a ton of attention. And there's nothing I could do for it. My friend wouldn't let me take it with us in the car and my parents would reject the idea of feeding it and cleaning the cat up. It was really a sad scenario. I love cats. There's my two cents. You should have called animal control
You should have called animal control
Shit. Well I didn't know the number...dammit.
Try getting there number and reporting that to them, it would be the best thing to do. They might put it down, but it's better than living out on the street like that.
You know, cat food is quite cheap. You don't have to adopt it to help it out. If you feel strongly enough, perhaps you could pack along a can of cat food on your next walk to/from school. Maybe you'll bump into the little fellow again, and you can totally make his day :)
Don't feel too bad. Make sure that if you ever see it again, take it to a pet home kind of place.
animal control
Euthanasia
I found a kitten as I was walking around town once. It followed me everywhere so after a little while I took it back to the yard it came from and asked the guy inside the house if he knew whose it was. He gave me $15 for finding his kitten.
Euthanasia
exactly. if nobody adopts the cat they're just gonna fucking kill it.
I have something sad relating to pets. Actually we had adopted a dog when it was just a puppy and we had it for about two years, and the whole family really loved the dog. Eventually, my step dad gets laid off and we were going to move from Ohio to Florida. We couldn't take our dog. We contacted any family members we could, any shelters (every single one was full) and even the place we adopted it from, which said it didn't have any room. We had to end up dropping it off at a camp ground. Although it sucks, I think someone could have picked him up because he was friendly to everyone and loving. That's just me being hopeful.
It's okay bro animal control maybe able to save it since it doesn't seem to be a dangerous type. The cat is kind of cute, I would adopt it.
Thumb those huge pics please.
bad feel.
Follow your heart and get that cat to a vet pronto.
you deserted a cat after taking humiliating pictures of it nice going OP
OP reminds me of the Direct TV stray animals commercial.
Theres a bunch of Stray cats in Kypros, nobody seemed to care.
As opposed to, I don't know, the cat dying painfully on the streets somewhere? Euthanasia is preferable to the likely alternative
I dunno man. I would prefer dying from hunger because of my parents not feeding me than having some strange come to my house and take me away to kill me without even asking. And then there are these people who will adopt me. That's what I would like if I was a cat. At least that's what I've done to the wild cat I've found. Too bad I couldn't keep him more than a month, my dad's allergic to cats. Is your dad allergic, OP?
