SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Police say a 14-year-old Utah boy was trying to cover up for falling and ripping his new pants when he reported a bullet grazed him. South Salt Lake police Sgt. Mikael Wersland told the Salt Lake Tribune that the teen reported the shooting Tuesday evening. Police say about 10 witnesses told them they did not hear any gunfire in the area at the time. Wersland says the boy "fell down and tore the knee" of his pants, but lied about being grazed by a bullet because he didn't want to get into trouble. The sergeant says the teen only suffered a "scrape where he fell down." The boy has not been identified. It was not immediately known whether he would be charged with any crime
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_ODD_RIPPED_PANTS_POLICE_CALL?SITE=WVEC&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=STRANGEHEADS.html
Hey at least you didn't look like a complete tool in front of a bunch of people... Instead you look like a complete fucking tool in front of everyone who reads the news.
Oh god I know this fucking kid He lives a few blocks away I'm gonna go fucking kick his ass
What kind of fucking excuse is that lol? To not get in trouble? Shit you'll have more people tripping out if you tell them it was from a random bullet than just being a dumbass and falling haha BET YOU'RE IN THE CLEAR NOW KID "The boy who cried grazing bullet."
I thought, judging by the title, that he got shot and said he wasn't shot so they didn't have top rip up his pants since he didn't want them ruined. :v:

Instead, it was more among the lines of "AH A BULLET SCRAPED MY KNEE! NOTHIN' SERIOUS, EVERYTHIN'S FINE" (omg mommy is gonna kill me if she finds out I tripped and ripped my pants D:)
I used to tell my parents that I was attacked by a cougar when I ripped my new pair of pants.
The fact that he felt the need to lie about something so mundane leads me to believe one or both of his parents have, in the past, completely flown off the handle for something just as mundane I'd be checking the household for possible abuse

"You accidentally ripped your 20$ pants? HOW DARE YOU GO TO YOUR ROOM!!!"

Wow, he must be pretty scared of his parents to lie about ripping his pants :/
Too many shooting games for him.
Wow, that was pathetic of him. You don't misuse the emergency number like that!

What a rip-off :downsrim:
professional internet psychologist right here folks
he's right, so what's your point
I read the title as he shit his pants and lied about getting shot. "Boy-lied-about-being-shot-to-cover-shitting-his-pants"
I used to tell my parents that I was attacked by a cougar when I ripped my new pair of pants.
Made me think of Red Dead Redemption.
I agree with Zeke: it's worth looking into the kid's home life. He's probably just a sensationalist who wanted to impress his friends, but if he's being truthful about lying to avoid getting in trouble at home, then I've got to question exactly what kind of punishment his parents dish out to make him so fearful of their reaction.

I know there was a time when I had ripped some shorts at an amusement park and my excuse was something to make me look awesome.
professional internet psychologist right here folks
yeah who is he kidding, only doctors can think critically
Reminds me of a case from around me where some kid said that a guy jumped out of his car and scratched up his face with a screwdriver while trying to abduct and molest him. Then gave up and drove away in his white car with a rusty bumper. For a week or so everyone driving a rusty white car was looked upon as a potential pedophile, then the kid revealed that he made up the whole story to hide the fact that he hurt himself screwing around in some part of the woods he wasn't allowed to go to.
Reminds me of that Spongebob episode.
you mean the one with the flying underwear or some shit that is so old, i think it's the second season
