Sounds nice, i like it, artistic to you sir.
Your voice isn't going with it at all. It seems like your trying to get a lower vocal tone but this offers no resonance and makes your voice sound bad. You sound very off key as well.
Thanks, any advice?
Look up information on singing. If you have money and the time get a teacher. I used to be terrible at singing, but I'd say my voice isn't too horrible now. Brett Michaels who is a famous singing teacher says that what makes a good singer sound good is how well they can resonate the sound from their voice box. I assume you have some instrument, or can download a virtual keyboard, use it to practice singing in key. I usually use my acoustic and sing scales with it, and to test myself I sing the note before I play it on the guitar to check my accuracy. Of course practice the major and minor scales, but I also really suggest practicing the chromatic scale as well. You aren't likely to use it in a song, but you'll have a lot accurate pitch.
I actually have a teacher, and can pretty much nail the chromatic scale, nervousness made me fuck up the recording :frown: I sang it so low because my range is D2-A3, and I haven't got the higher notes to sound good yet
Try singing with your head tone and see how you sound. It sounds like our singing from your throat. Recording will get on your nerves. But the more and more you do it the less and less nervous you'll become. My nerves used to affect me pretty bad, but they aren't really there anymore.
The singing sounds alright, even though you were off in a few places, but it just doesn't sound right in the places where Serj uses harsh vocals and you continue singing like in the verses. Add some flava to that, it sounds kinda boring.

I wouldn't listen to the band if he were singing.
Hi, I sing System too (I"ll post a cover here in a bit since I just got a new microphone and I wanna test this bitch out). Anyway some tips - Lyrics, you read the lyrics wrong. I would know, I'm crazy about SOAD. - Sustain, you need to add some sustain to the end of some sentences and run on to the next verse. It will sound 100% better if you do that. -Distortion, as stated before. Distortion added to the voice. I have a little tip for practicing this, start singing your major scales and as you go up, tighten your vocal cords and your chest more and exhale while stressing your vocal cords. I'll be back at this thread in less then 24 hours with a little cover.
You actually have a good voice, but it isn't really the type of voice you should sing to System of a Down with... And you're very handsome. I should know, I'm Handsome Pete
