hello :D i am going to purchase a c64 dtv or hummer to hack into a c64 pc. i know the hummer comes with an lcd, but i have not yet heard of any disk drive/keyboard/c64 basic mode. however, on the c64 dtv, i have found instructions on all those, and more. so, is it possible to attach a mini lcd to a c64 dtv? and if so, how?
thanks in advance -domofreak
PS: what is the smallest c64 dtv keyboard? thanks :3
Where is this pc you're going to hack into and why are you going to? :smith:

If your talking about one of these you would probably need something to convert the signal from the AV cable, is it just a hobby size LCD screen you have, like a cell phone one?
that is EXACTLY what i am talking about, i actually got inspired from that make article :3 i dont have anything yet, as i do not know what i would need. i am willing to spend up to 100 dollars on this project (i hope to spend less tho) i got inspired to make the LAPTOP tho, when i saw an awsome c64 laptop made from a hummer. the thing is, hummers cant have disk drives, theres no documentation on how to add a joystick or keyboard, or how to boot un c64 mode :P i hope to use a screen that is about the size of a card deck box.
Right, do you know what resolution it is? 768x576 is standard PAL TV, if its lower than that, some scaleing is in order.
i have no idea, but itd be the same rez as the hummer lcd, that is the size i hope to use :3 thanks for the help

Ok, if the screen is like this you will need some circuitry made up to output the video to a ribon cable, however, if it was part of a portable DVD player or LCD TV there should already be an AV input you could use.
I have always wanted to do this myself aswell, I have 2 Commodore Amiga 600's laying around, and my Amiga 1200 HD in minty condition (hasnt turned yellow) which I will never open up, the 600's are perfect because there motherboards are relatively small, plus they have a RF modulator, AV and VGA output built in.
thanks for the info :D ill get back to u with a picture of the lcd ill use. i will most likley buy a small one, or scavenge ir from my ds.
EDIT
this is the rough size im aiming for

possibly a bit bigger, so i can actually use the keyboard :P
I would use a PS1 screen like he did, I would also try emailing him asking for schematics and instructions.
I did something a little bit similar except I wanted to mount a screen to a camcorder rig. What you'll want is one of those portable DVD players with an AV input, they're a bit easier to find than PS1 screens and you can probably find one cheap. I bought a broken one that wouldn't read discs for $5.
i just found one for 15 bucks :D PLUS it comes with a backlight XD
EDIT:
oh, wait, its a psp screen O.o would this matter?

Yeah, anything without a composite video input is going to be a huge headache. A PSP screen will not work easily at all.
i found a broken dvd player :D
