I personally cannot wait for Liam Neeson's daughter to be taken again. Because then Liam Neeson will find them and kill them all over again.
This is one of those movies where you know exactly what is going to happen throughout but watch anyway because stuff
The plot itself isn't the same. Instead of his daughter being taken, it's him and his wife, and his daughter is the one who has to save them, though Neeson is still active, he's not the main protagonist.
I doubt I'll see this unless it's a social gathering and somebody happens to have it.
I think it's fair to say that the days of a good screen acting performance by Mr Neeson are over. I had my hopes up when he was initially cast for Lincoln, but it's a shame he dropped out.
Taken was a good action movie in my opinion. So I guess I'll check this out as well.

What an amazing twist. Instead of his possessions being taken, it is now he HIMSELF who is taken.
Would be a better movie if he could just do a Wolfenstein and escape the place where he is held with force.
Ohhhh boy!

good looking game for 1995, the moves have hardly changed either which is amazing.
I loved Taken. It defied the whole "the good guys must have the moral high ground" thing (what with the lengths the protagonist went through to find his daughter) and Liam Neeson's character was also more pragmatic than the typical action hero. I also like how the plot pretty much proves that Liam's actions in the first movie will have actual consequences.
You've got to be kidding. This'll be run of the mill as any run of the mill action movie is nowadays.
There's no reason to watch this other than for the sake of turning the brain off will pals.

sounds good for me.

I've always considered Taken different from the typical action movie. Call me what you like, but that's my belief.

liam neeson doesn't know who you are. he doesn't know what you want. if you're looking for attention, i can tell you he hasn't given you any. but i can tell you what he does have.
a very particular set of skills. skills he has acquired over a very long career. skills that make him a nightmare for people like you.
if you stop saying his good acting days are over now, that will be the end of it. he will not look for you. he will not pursue you. but if you don't, he will look for you. he will find you. and he will kill you.
:(

Fixed.
I'm actually pretty excited over this. Like a lot of people mentioned, the idea that there are repercussions from the actions of the first movie is neat-o. Yeah, it kind of sucks that we pretty much know how this movie is going to end, but the journey is sure to be entertaining.

And instead, we have Daniel-Day Lewis playing as Lincoln, which might have been a bad thing for Neeson. But, Lincoln will probably be played better by Lewis.

Seriously, Tekken 2 is fucking awesome. Tekken is my favourite fighting series and Tekken 2 is the best one IMO.
I came to this thread thinking it would be about Tekken 2 and got disappointed. =(
I like how it actually has a running plot. Instead of just different people that take his daughter again or something like that.
Also action looks badass.
The only thing that's weird is how he rings his daughter and has almost the exact same phone call.
Thank god, I thought I was the only one who misread it the same way.
How the hell is the daughter going to save them? She was a shriveling wreck in the first film.
oh god the cheesy family montage at the beginning almost made me want to kill myself with embarrassment
but i will watch anyway because liam neeson

She won't do shit until the end probably. It's all about the Neeson.

well the Tekken movie is meant to be horrifically shit.
But there is going to be an animated interpretation I think.
i watched the trailer, how is this not a joke
probably not going to be as entertaining as the first one
the only thing I could notice about taken 1 is how the people he beat up seemed to get more and more arabic until he was literally killing a fat sultan
When will they make a good film and just leave it at that? Sadly $$$$ means they will cash in. Kubrick never chased the dollar and it's sad to see a solid film like Taken get trashed with a sequel. We all know this probably isn't going to be good.
as much as i liked Taken, I kind of hoped they wouldnt make a sequel :(
