I had NO idea that there was a single legal R34 in the US. The story behind them is very interesting.

It was a law set in place by the Japanese government for safety reasons. So everyone just said "Oh yea, sure, this car only makes 276hp!"
It's funny that they never bothered to test it though.
So much tech in such an old car.

There's a few Youtubers who have them. tommyfyeah has a street legal R32 that's super badass.

R32s at this point fall within the 25 year cut off, so legal imports on them are relatively easy, and cheap(er).

I find it "odd" that a Skyline can't pass emissions just because its a little over the mark set by, for example, a new Vette. Especially when the US already pulled the kind of stunts that prohibited certain cars from being imported.

it can pass emissions. the 25 year rule has nothing to do with emissions. it has to do with people importing cars from europe for a cheaper price than cars were being sold in the states and daimler benz went to the government and lobbied for import regulation so that people couldn't diminish their profits that way.
