A new Predator movie by Robert Rodriguez this July.
My take on it:
It has promise but that new dog/predator looks stupid as fuck and the new predator mask looks horrible. And why did they have to make the mask so huge? The predator looks like a bobble-head doll.
It looks like it's going to have the same feel as AVP and AVPR....retarded storyline and horrible acting. I love Alien and Predator so it's just annoying that they continue to make the coolest sci-fi aliens FUBAR. [/rant]
I'd watch it.
I tell you what if that woman in start keeps the scope on the rifle that close to her eye she is going to pop it out.
Cast makes me interested.

I dont think this movie is intending to be quite realistic.

that's what the rubber part against her eye is for
The idea that it takes multiple predators and dog-things to hunt a group of humans ON A RESERVE makes me uninterested.
In fact, they take the whole idea of a predator being a one-man army and thoroughly eviscerate it.
It pisses me off SO MUCH that...
[The rest is pure ranting.]

It makes me more mad that they portray predators as evil monsters
It's not a fucking dog, it's a humaniod hunter thing. :sigh:
The whole basis of EVERY Predator movie ( not AVP ) is the fact of the Predator being a capable enough of a being to be be able to hunt and kill numerous foes being only HIMSELF. Just HIMSELF. The idea that they also have dogs and shit is absolutly stupid.
Predators are so fucking awesome, I'll watch it.
I only played the Predator campaign in AvP because they're fucking awesome.
Omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huh.. Looks.. interesting.
Those dogs look more Demon than alien, maybe it's because of all of those spikes.

They have always looked like that. Also it's Robert Rodriguez.

YIIIIAGGHH!!!!!!
i so agree with you, but the movie looks fine
I'm not sure, I have hopes but I'm also wary. Why does that Predator just stand infront of the group? That's not what Predators do dammit!

Um...
I like how you guys are assuming the movie is going to be bad from a few-second clips of it.
hadn't even heard of this till now, probably worth a watch
Predators are supposed to be the ultimate hunters with perfect senses, amazing agility and technology. Why the fuck would they need primitive dog things to help them? Are the dogs better at tracking? That's pretty unlikely considering that Predators in other movies seem to be great trackers already.
Seriously, the dog things are stupid.

Well, there's a lot of info given by the trailer that makes me assume the worst.
First, there's this quote.
"This planet is a game reserve, and we're the game."
-Big-nosed Guy
This implies that they were caught, and put on a planet to be hunted.
In the first two Predator movies, the Predator actually traveled to Earth to hunt in the humans' habitat. They didn't need no "game reserve" to hunt humans.
Second, there's the image of the creature at 1:17.
This creature, I assume, is a sort of hunting dog to the Predator. Why the heck would the predator need a hunting dog? The Predator in the first two movies didn't require a four legged companion at their side.
Of course, this creature maybe just part of the planet's wildlife and not associated with the predator, and I would stand corrected.
Third is the image at 1:37 of Pinocchio with seven laser sights aimed at him, meaning there are seven or more Predators hunting this group of humans.
The Predator, as depicted in the first two movies, was a lone wolf, hunting by his lonesome self. He didn't require company by his side.
These go against my opinion of what the Predator should be: A one-man army that can take on a squad of soldiers and whose only weaknesses are bulky Austrians and black cops.
The trailer portrayed them as less.
The final kicked to the balls was what the director said.
"The idea with the film was to not make if feel like the fifth or sixth movie of the series, but the first."
-Rodriguez
There's a chance I'm not interpreting this correctly, but it sounds like he's saying that the other films didn't happen. He wants us to replace our interpretation of the original, badass Predator with this... thing.
In conclusion, I find that the evidence provided by the trailor show that the reimagining of the Predator is a total wimp.
So they might kick canon's ass, but who cares? As long as its entertaining.

Don't know what you were watching, but ok.

The impression I got from the "Game reserve" quote is that Earth is said reserve. I mean, the environment looks like Earth, completely, and all.
