(CNN) - In an exclusive interview with CNN Chief Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash, Rep. Bennie Thompson doubled down on controversial remarks he made about race over the weekend.
The Mississippi Democrat had argued Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, a black conservative, is an "Uncle Tom" who doesn't stand up for African Americans.
In his interview with the New Nation of Islam webcast on Sunday, which was first reported by BuzzFeed, the eleven-term African American argued President Barack Obama has been mistreated by other politicians, including Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, because he is black.
Clarence Thomas is an Uncle Tom who doesn't stand up for African Americans though?
He never speaks on the bench and hasn't for a long fucking time and is effectively a seat used by conservatives.
He was a terrible choice for a Supreme Court justice and his nomination was passed by a fucking 52-48 vote.
He votes 97.7 percent on republican party policy and line. That's worse than fucking Scalia.
You either represent everyone or you represent your puppet masters.

It's not even that.
He's never represented anyone but the Republican party.
Exactly the quote. He's only representing the group he's from. Which oddly enough wouldn't be a bad thing if that was his job still, but now it's really not.
Oh man what a guy.
This is fucking sick.
When CNN reporter Dana Bash noted that the term wouldn't be appropriate if used by someone who is white, Thompson replied, "But I'm black."

"You're asking me the question, and I'm giving you a response," he added. "The people that I represent, for the most part, have a real issue with those decisions-voter ID, affirmative action, Affordable Care Act-all those issues are very important and for someone in the court who's African American and not sensitive to that is a real problem."
I don't see how someone's political views makes them an Uncle Tom just because they don't correlate with your own.
Uncle Tom is a pretty demeaning term.
nother black politician saying its alright to be racist if you're not a white republican.
also big o hasn't been mistreated because he's black, its because he's got shit policy.
he solved guantanimo by just indiscriminately bombing the guys whom we would normally lock up, he solved the recession by wasting shittloads of money on porkulus packages and he's dickered around healthcare to protect his party at the expense of a working system and whenever something reaches the Whitehouse he let's Eric holder take the blame.
not racist but he's just an ass
Calling someone an uncle tom is the epitome of how some people who claim to be tolerant are, in reality, judgemental assholes.
Yeah, it's not a good thing to vote partisan all the time, but simply because someone is black they all of the sudden have to vote a certain way no matter what?
Fuck off, hypocrites.
