ok so me and my friend were talking about Lucid Dreaming. my friend claims to be able to lucid dream, and some of his friends to. since i knew him for years and trust him, i started getting interested and asked a bunch of questions. he told me to watch inception an it will explain things. i did some research and it apears lucid dreaming is actually possible and the info in da movie is based off real info. does anyone find this interesting or ever had a lucid dream? a lucid dream btw is knowing that your in a dream and are conscious of what you are doing and are able to control the envirment and pretty much do almost anything you want. i actually had a lucid dream serveral years ago when something crazy happened and i realized i was dreaming then decided to wake my self up because i was scared of what was happening in the dream.
Lucid dreaming is very real, though It's probably far from what inception is.
Lucid dreaming is well documented, and very real. However, the similarities end there when it introduces technology for multiperson dream as well as the inception tech. itself.
Very true what the above poster says, but I believe there has been documented multiperson dreams.
I had a lucid dream. It was about a post-apocalyptic version of where I lived and I had to walk across this skinny pipe over a huge hole in the ground and I fell in.
i find this very interesting. iv been practicing to have lucid dreams but i just keep fallin asleep. i found techniques to help it happen that should get me lucid pretty soon. cant wait!
There's also astral projection, much more difficult but I heard it's worth it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astral_projection
actually before we started practicing lucid dreaming, we practiced astral projection. i was stunned at the thought but for religious reasons we decited to stop thinking about it. altough i have heard its possible to turn a lucid dream into astral projection.
I had a lucid dream once, too. It was a room filled with the ideal women of my mind waiting to have sweet love made to them one right after the other. Unfortunately I realized I was such a layer deeper and accidentally was kicked in the limbo layer only to witness this. For 50 years. Lucid dreaming is very much possible. I feel bad for you if you've never experienced it. It is wonderful. Now, shared dreaming, on the other hand, not so much...
I have lucid dreaming, and I recently experienced multiple dreams inside dreams. It's kinda scary, though, so I like got freaked out and started waking up again and again till I actually woke up, sweating as hell. Only reason I didn't get confused was because I remembered how many times I went to bed: four. I woke up three and then I knew that I was really waking up the next one. But that's probably as far as it goes: there's no way to hook an Ethernet cable on your brain and link your dreams to someone else.
actually it is possible to get into others dreams. i believe its called dream walking but i never did any research on it so im not quite sure my self. i also believe you can enter someone els dream threw astral projection.

Stop that.
I believe alot of paranormal things my self. I do like to have scientific evidence for things to prove that they exist, but rarely is there any thing "paranormal" that theres scientific evidence of. Ok heres my first lucid dream i ever had. I was in the grocery store with my dad. We walked into a big blue room that was the freezer section. My dad bent over (since i was about 10 when i had it) and told me not to run off by my self. i would never disobey my dad in real life because i have high respect for him, but for some reason in the dream i saw a big door that led to a huge river and grass every where, and i wandered off. I walked along a grass path with a river in the middle and was surrounded by wood fence. i saw a weird chocolet factory, and a man drawing it. i got nervous so i decided to turn back to my dad. As i walked back i found i was on the other side of the river, and i saw a big tree walking ( yeah i have weird dreams) with a spear in one hand and a shield in the other. I said "Dad?" because i thought it might have been my dad playing a trick ( Because he likes to joke alot) and it turned around and growled loudly. I then realized "this cant be real, it has to be a dream!" and thats when the dream turned lucid and i was about to feel what was happening and knew i was dreaming. i then ran and got on the grounded ,because i tree was chaseing me with the spear, and tried to wake up. it felt so real. i tried closing my eyes real hard then opening them, hoping it would wake me up. i wasnt able to wake up untill the 3rd try. i then woke up kinda sweaty and freaked out lol. anyone els have any good ones they wanna discuss?
I had a lucid dream where I played guitar in some super cool rock band in a restaurant or something. I just thought, in this restaurant, there is a super cool rock band that I play guitar for, and I walked in and it worked! I just had to wait til Michael Jackson was done. It's my most successful one yet, though I haven't had a lot recently.
Why are you talking about astral projection like it's a proven scientific standard? Stop that.
There's thosands of cases of astral projection so IT DOES exist weather it's spiritual or not, but something is going on.
Why are you talking about astral projection like it's a proven scientific standard? Stop that.
Astral projection is very real. Theres no evidence but many people have said to be able to do it at will. Unless there all lieing for some reason lol.
All of my lucid dreams have been sexually-oriented. [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline]
Astral projection is very real. You can theoretically have a dream shared between multiple people, but not like inception. The documented dream sharing the OP is thinking of is actually multiple people having the same dream, but everyone there will be generated by their subconscious except for that person that's having the dream. [editline]3rd February 2011[/editline] It's a paradox. As for astral projections it comes down to the beliefs of the person, educated or not.

Well inception styled dream sharing is impossible, sorry to burst your bubble.
yeah, your probably right about that.
Inception...Possible? http://inception.davepedu.com/ I'm lucky, a majority of my dreams are lucid dreams.

I mean, if you had control you would have just changed the situation.

I've been into lucid dreaming for several years now and let me tell you its worth it. I often lose my ability however when I don't keep at it. I generally devote free time in the summer towards retaining my ability.

Try reading Doctor Strange man. Great comic. Be that as it may, I try to divorce the metaphysical from reality. Lucid dreaming actually computes for me, since it is provable. There's actually a chan I found a little while ago, that covers all this stuff. http://www.lucidchan.org/ Somewhat interesting.
If you're talking implanting an idea into someones head while they sleep, then yes.
