I'd say it's pretty self aware though, I mean it's not like a bunch of 70 year old dudes sat around and went "What do kids like? Oh right MEMES" and tossed together a serious commercial about it, this is pretty clearly tongue-in-cheek.
To think a whole team of guys in marketing sat in a room and saw each other in the eyes thinking "we should do this ironic green screen so people will edit us into stuff like that guy did with the clock"

Well take into consideration look how well the Deadpool marketing team did, its actually pretty genius.
I'm a bit surprised they didn't take any of the big quotes from the Shia LaBeouf motivational video- throughout the whole video I was expecting him to say "Just do it!" and "Don't let your dreams be dreams!", or "Nothing is impossible!" at least once.
