as a hardcore Destiny fan and as such absorb all the lore because of how awesome it is, i agree with the agency thing involving your character not getting attached to shit. but thats mainly limited to cutscenes and the missions/raids pretty much let you do the most important stuff (like killing a god, thats pretty good for "involving the player in the lore".) there's also the iron lord events that involved the player like OWL Sector, The creation of a exotic weapon in RoI based on the first gun you get in the game (Which i feel like is the best emotional moment, esp for someone like me who has been playing since vanilla), and other various lore pieces. Destiny 2 was expected to come out this year earlier in 2016, managed by the Taken King game director (the expansion responsible for making Destiny genuinely good gameplay-loop wise.) They delayed destiny 2 to next year and instead gave us the iron lords expansion. This probably explains why the campaign plot in the dlc is short. This expansion was also gonna be made for 360 and PS3 but was dropped before E3 so the plaugelands looks better graphically and other additional features that arnt limited by memory usage. They usually pump new content out for free in april so expect that. Destiny 2 is apparently massively reworking how the game works because new engine and no longer attached to the previous gen consoles. Rumors are that bungie wants to massively limit how many times you see a "main menu" type screen when you jump from place to place along with having a better way to explain plot or give out quests. Hopefully that fixes the story issue as they will have more freedom with the engine without being limited to 360/ps3 memory that the first game is majorly effected by. I honestly think the 360/PS3 is what held back destiny mainly and now you see the iron lords expansion have some fun cool stuff because it doesnt need to worry about it. Also, imo, I think the Taken Enemies are not copy pastes. They are basically a twist on a original enemy with a unique feature for each one. One unit can now duplicate itself infinitely, another light unit can dash super quickly to get out of your line of sight so it can attack you in mobs, One shoots AOE fire that sticks to surfaces, one blows you backwards with a shield, etc. Each "Copy-paste" has a unique ability that makes them harder to fight against. The Iron Lord SIVA Fallen on the other hand have some gimmicks but they mainly feel like the original fallen but punish you for doing headshots sometimes and possible health regen. so yeah, they are actually lazy design really. The iron lord expansion is really nice lore wise, but i can see why someone whos not interested in it can not have fun easily. I also agree massively with IHE that i want to show people the world of destiny for how awesome it is but its held back by the Destiny 1 Limitations (seriously been convincing people to jump in but they dont like it because of how the story is introduced, thus they can't get sucked into the world). Hopefully Destiny 2's fancy new engine tech can fix all that. also lord saladman's voice can shine at certain missions, like one of the Exotic missions included in RoI that IHE didn't talk about ("YOUR LIGHT IS A DRAGON. YOU WILL NOT FAIL.") tl;dr bungie made mistakes but the game is still largely cool, has been improving massively with expansions, and i think destiny 2 will fix the rest of the shit people have problems with as rumors say they plan major gameplay reworks also i wrote this basically half asleep and been adding to this post a bit. sorry if it seems like a giant block of jumbled up thoughts. if anyone wants to talk bout stuff i said ill reply when i wake up
Yeah I'll be waiting for Destiny 2 tbh, Destiny 1 just isn't interesting enough for me to play, I like the look of the universe, I like some of the lore I read, the visuals are nice, but the game itself just doesn't look all that interesting and that's coming from someone who was a massive fan of this sort of thing, as in the Halo games, I'm not sure what it is though, perhaps it's the lackluster story telling? uninteresting characters, nothing that really grabs me, I suppose if I'm missing anything for the sequel I'll just read about the lore later or something.

Is there a chance that Destiny 2 will come out for PC?
Is there a chance that Destiny 2 will come out for PC?
There has been a lot of rumors but it's not confirmed
Is there a chance that Destiny 2 will come out for PC?
The original contract with Activision says yes
It Destiny 2 comes to PC I will be somewhat curious and perhaps optimistic for it, depending on how it's received and what it's business model is.
I was a big fan of TTK and did pretty much everything short of the raid but Rise of Iron from the beginning just seemed like a last minute cash grab to me. The taken enemies were the same visually but all had a neat gimmick at the very least; in RoI you are literally just fighting fallen, again, in places you have already fought them before. Being primarily a solo player, the fact that raids get the lions share of development is pretty annoying. I really hope Destiny 2 is great because the foundations and I love the world but the gameplay is just so repetitive. I honestly hadn't thought of the fact that almost no new enemy types had been added to the game since release, after almost $100 worth of DLC. [editline]30th October 2016[/editline] The DLC sending you from a new offshoot of Old Russia to an old vanilla Mars map is really kinda Destiny in a nutshell.

Yet more Fallen, and on Earth again. Give me some new enemies, on a new planet. That's all i've wanted since TTK and RoI, though not without its gems, was a bit of a slap in the face. And more fucking "collect X of super hidden material for meh rewards." Calcified Fragment and Hadium Flakes weren't enough? Monster Hunter Egg Quest tier. [editline]30th October 2016[/editline] Oh and the super special reward weapon was yet another sword, relegating the axe they played up so much to a temp Relic.
It's also really hard to go back to destiny at 30fps after playing titanfall, battlefield or CoD at 60fps...
