• Real music VS Techno?

I had a discussion with my friend the other day about Techno and rock music. He's a Techno lover and i enjoy Jimmy Hendrix. He was all like "Lol Techno is really hard to make because it takes years to master the art of being a DJ". Oh dear god! I said he should wake up and realise that playing bass, drums and guitars is actually harder to learn than a freakin DJ. So what do you guys think of this? :P

I like Techno and I like Rock. Both are P. Cool. "Real Music" Vs. Techno. How full of yourself do you have to be?
Music is an art form whose medium is sound. Common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture.
Techno falls under the definition of music, your opinion does not change that.
Where's Akyaz? I figured he would be the first poster here. Edit: Also, I thought techno required skill until I bought a Korg :smug:
I don't like you, OP.
The title of this thread is just asking for a fight, "Real music VS techno"

To me techno is literally the same beat in different tones Like Dubstep, it sounds good and the drop is good, but then 15 seconds after the drop you realize it's the same fucking thing [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] Even Daft Punk does the same beat x 100000 in some songs

No type of music has to be hard to create. You don't have to take lessons to beat drums, or play some random shit on a guitar. You don't need to be a genius to place samples either.

Dubstep, Nuff said. Hopefully it will never go mainstream, thats what makes it awesome at the moment  This tune is epic.
I get the "Your post = opinions" now :). I get that people are mad at the title and i really want to change it but it wont let me :(. I'm all sad now :'(
Sometimes I don't like that I enjoy techno, because people hang over my shoulder and say 'HURR WHAT YOU LISTENING TO' and I say, "Techno." They immediately say 'HURR NERD STOP LISTENING TO THAT SISSY SHIT'. Then they go listen to their ear raping rock music at 100% volume. But that's not the point. Techno is real music, and it still exists because people enjoy it. If it's samples played at different tones, so what?
shit troll
Despite being trolling I'm guessing this thread's going to devolve into some argument shitstorm anyway?
I like how you just imply that techno is some sort of fake music that isn't as legit as every type of music even though it's not and you're ignorant and know nothing about the genre. Actually, I don't like that. It's asinine.
It does take years to master dj'ing, it doesn't seem like that, but it does. Jimi Hendrix is good, but you act like your friend had said this, "LOL TECHNO IS BETTUR!" It seems that you're just being ignorant.
My undeniably factual opinion is that the OP is a fucking idiot.

Wow, when all your musical tastes get bashed you say "it's just an opinion" but if someone were to make a thread saying "Justin Bieber makes shitty fucking music" you'd all be agreeing Double standard or what [editline]13th October 2010[/editline]
all music is limited to the same notes and chords that are defined in music theory. you could argue that ALL music gets old over time because of that. the goal of art and music is to convey emotion. are you going to say someone's preferred way of expressing himself isn't "art" because you personally don't enjoy it?
All music can get old, after a long fucking time of listening to all types of music ever, but techno gets old in that 4 minute+ time span of the fucking song It is art, but it's annoyingly repetitive art In my opinion of course
