at first I thought the launch had failed
It looks like it splits into two right before it disapears behind the clouds!
Jesus that thing went fast.

Russian Kirov-class Battlecruisers carry about 20 of these. They are really advanced missiles, they have several onboard anti-point-defence measures, and they communicate inflight with other missiles. So if their original target gets destroyed they target other ships in the vicinity detected by other missiles. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline] These missiles go so fast that once they are detected it's usually too late, even the most advanced early warning systems detect them from 1-5 seconds before impact.
Glorious!
That was beautiful.
Jesus that thing went fast.
This. Never in my life have I seen something go from a near standstill to off the fucking horizon this quickly.
Those lateral rockets are kickass. [editline]16th December 2012[/editline]
This. Beautiful in a scary way.
I wish the video had finished with 5 minutes of the camera panning around that beautiful landscape. In high definition.
cortex command
that is so fucking cool
During the Gulf War, my dad said Americans were firing cruise missiles at Iraqi-held compounds. He said it was the most terrifying thing he'd ever witnessed. When they passed the tops of buildings, they'd shatter windows. He said that when they detonated, you'd be sucked forwards, and then pushed backwards. And he wasn't even close to the explosion. He was in a building when it went off, a good few hundred meters away. Scary stuff.
