Post some of your favorites, and discuss. I'm kind of new to Jethro Tull, so I'm not a total expert on this band. And if there's already a Jethro Tull thread this can be deleted.
Thick as a Brick is an absolute masterpiece. Listened to that one night with my friend, just sitting in the dark listening to the vinyl. Truly life changing experience
They're like a rock band from the 16th century and are amazing because of it
Hey Aqualung.
Aqualung is amazing, but Thick As A Brick just fucking changed my life. Such an amazing piece of music
My dad fucking loves this band
My guitar teacher is making me learn aqualung by ear as practice

I fucking love that song/album, fuck it's more than music it's a goddamn experience.
Also, I fully support prog rock threads being created/bumped.
Man these guys are incredible.
I'm gonna have to listen to Thick as a Brick sometime soon
Fuck. Yes.

'and you shake your, said it's a shame'

Coolest intro to a song ever.
got thick as a brick from the library and listened to it for the first time last night and it's a definite prog masterpiece.
Yeah, I got it a few days ago and I was pretty much ejaculating progressive jizz for the next few hours

Thick as A Brick is the most longest song I know, anyone know any longer songs?

Transatlantic's The Whirlwind is 77 minutes, but it's split up. A Passion Play, aslo from Tull, is two minutes longer than TAAB aswell.
They are great. Been to their show.

Longest single song I have heard is Light of Day, Day of Darkness by Green Carnation, which clocks in at 60.06. The longest I've heard of is a song by a band my friend went on tour with who recorded a song which was 81 minutes long, intentionally so it couldn't fit on a single CD :v:

The Incident by Porcupine Tree is almost an hour I think. And Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater is about the same length as Thick As A Brick
I'm listening to Thick as a Brick right now. Truly a masterpiece.
Hymn 43 is one of the best songs on Aqualung after Aqualung

I'd go further and say that it is the best.
Out of curiosity, does A Passion Play compare to Thick as a Brick? I'm curious and have both but have yet to get around to listening to APP
I'm 3 minutes into Thick As A Brick and it's fucking amazing
I love how the first part of "Thick as a brick" sounds like the opening to some sort of sit com, whilst having lyrics like "Your sperm's in the gutter, your spit's in the sink"
It's kind of sad of the condition of Ian Anderson's voice is nowadays. He got surgery, so now the new shows don't have the best singing.

edit: although he can still play acoustic songs well

The great barrier reefer by bongripper, its and hour and 20 minutes long
Aqualung sounds so much better live:

Depends what you think of the notorious intermission The Hare Who Lost His Spectacles. It also has a much stronger and more serious theme than TAAB.
