i drive a '99 subaru impreza and they're very fun cars. i've modified mine a lot over the years, feels a lot like this one. the first thing i did was remove the driver's side tail light cover by using another car to ram it from behind. it has custom headlight illumination by variably diverting power to up to three windows. plenty of nice little interior touches too - the previous owner, clearly an artist himself, covered up the aging seams of the rear seats with color-matched duct tape which bestows it a very shriveled sort of return-of-the-mummy vibe thanks to just one lukewarm summer.
here's the best part: by skillfully striking the forward end of the car in potholes for years, when it turns on, there is a 50/50 chance it will run in "stealth mode." stealth mode is when none of the dash console lights turn on and the knock sensor retards the ignition timing. sometimes it's only one and not the other. still working on that. but for this latter reason, stealth mode tends to actually be quite loud up to 30mph. it's a game changer for city driving, as you blindly probe the controls for the defogger to battle the inexplicably permanent damp air inside the vehicle while the engine shrieks as though every block taken above 25 mph is its last.
He finally talks about the 2J and it isn't my IS 300 :disappoint:
[SP]When I emailed him he did seem a bit interested though.[/SP]
I lost it at [sp]THERE'S A COP, THERE'S A COP, THERE'S A COP COP COP[/sp]
I told my buddy that this is basically what his car is like, but times 100: a horrifying thing that has no right to exist.
every time we got the headcam and he started accelerating more and more and more despite having to fight the turning my hands started sweating and I mentally started feeling around my body to make sure I'm wearing my seatbelt

god in that final trailing shot you can see how much he has to fight the steering just rolling along
Can't help but think of :v:

He did do a Mk4 Supra a few years back.
The owner... didn't stop to think if he should
That's a beast of a car.
"Well, how does it drive?"
