What are your experiences of Summer Camp? (USA) - General

I'm thinking of applying to a Summer Camp placement programme that'll have me working in a camp in the USA over the summer holidays in 2011. [url]http://www.usasummercamp.co.uk/[/url] So, I would like to ask if any of you have been to summer camp and if so, how was it? Did you like it? What kinds of things did you get up to?

I've been to two. One at Duke (Writing camp), one at Wake Forest. I fucking loved them, changed my life. Gives you a chance to meet great people from around the country. You will meet some of the coolest people ever.

Don't do any stupid ass camp cheer stuff, and if you do, make it satirical. I can't stand that shit. Don't be strict. People are there to have fun. I enjoyed camp one time because the moderators weren't douchebags. I was supposed to be at a group archery thing, but I wandered off to some capture the flag in the woods game. The guy in charge just asked if I had fun. Don't force people to do shit, again, this is about them having fun, not you being a nazi and forcing people to follow some stupid ass schedule. Coax people into doing something, don't be a dick bag and force them. If they don't want to do it, fine. It's all about the fun. It's all about the fun. About the fun. Fun. [I]Fun.[/I]

A bunch of religious fanatics go to these camps, freaky stuff.

summer camp = gay IMHO. Had camp as a kid, it may as well have been Auschwitz (more like OH-SHITs!, amirite?) I was like 10 when I stopped going, and I wanted to fuck the counselor (hey she was hot...and I hit puberty very early).

I went to a summer camp once. We were walking down a trail to go to the mess hall, and a guy next to me said "I gotta piss" so he pulled out his cock and started pissing while he was walking.

Example, I'm running the moon bounce machine Me: "Sir, kids are allowed on in 5 minute intervals, your kid has been on there for 15 minutes, and has wet himself. Please take him off." Parent: "He's not done yet, and you're only 18, I'm 28. Don't tell me what to do." Well fuck, what now?

I probably would've just turned the machine off and told them to take a hike for being abusive towards me

Are we talking about a kids or teen camp? I volunteer at one every year for about 4 years now.

If you go to a child one be prepared to suffer the kids are usually brats and they don't listen. If you go to a teen one just don't get on their bad side and it should be good. I've been to camp and i've volunteered.

I was forced to go to an over-night camp 3 separate years for 6 full weeks. I was duct taped to my mattress and pushed out into the lake, then when I swam back I was jumped again and rolled in the sand. I was throw into a shower in my clothes, with running cold water, and forced to stay there for 5 minutes. I had my clothes duct taped to the ceiling of the cabin, along with person possessions. I had a sack thrown over my head, and I was beaten with a mag light, then dragged outside by my legs and tied to a tree by a fire. Oh I also went wind surfing. That was fun.

I did several all around northeastern Wisconsin. One of the best jobs I ever had.
